Liz Benson returns to Nollywood

Prolific Nigerian actress Elizabeth 'Liz' Benson is set to made a
stunning return to Nollywood after staying off the scene for close to
five years.
NET has gathered that Benson who is considered as one of the top
actresses in the '90s will  feature in a new movie being produced by
Nextpage Production. The movie will be released this year.
The 46-year-old began her acting career in 1993's soap opera
'Fortunes' but rose to fame with her star role in 1994 hit movie
'Glamour Girls'. She went on to feature in other Nollywood hit movies
like Confessions, Evil Men 1 and 2, Shame, Conspiracy, Izaga, Burden,
Stolen Child, Faces, Dead End, Tycoon, and Body of Vengeance.
Around 2000, she announced she had become born-again and turned an
evangelist. She lost her husband in 1990′s but remarried a Bishop
Great Emeya about five years ago.

University offers course on Michael Jackson

A University in the US is now offering a course on the late pop star
Michael Jackson. The course which will be taught at Clark Atlanta
University will be covering the life of the mega star as a successful
businessman and pop icon.
'Micheal Jackson: The Business of Music' will be taught by popular
entertainment attorney, James Walker, who will talk about 'Jackson's
approach to business, his work with record companies, tours, and
legally marketing himself in terms of copyrights and trademarks'.
'The goal is to help students who have an interest or future desire
to work in the entertainment industry whether as an artist, attorney,
business manager, accountant or other…[and] to really provide my
students with a comprehensive understanding of the music industry and
the business mechanics involved', Walker says.
Clark-Atlanta University is the first to offer a class on the
late legendary pop singer.

It's been 13 months since the popular multilingual social. networking
Google Plus launched its services and even though it's been a slow
start for them, some Nigerian celebs are having fun there.
Google Plus recently made a list of its five top Nigerian celebrity
users that have the highest number of. Followers; they include R&B
singer Darey (14,311), pop singer Dr SID (14,075), rapper Naeto C
(14,000), OAP. Tosyn Bucknor (12,242) and fast rising rapper Yung6ix
(12,406). Google's social network, Plus which hit 90 million user
worldwide in January 2012 has just over 75,000 users in Nigeria since
its launch in June 2011, according to a recent report by
PlusDemographics.

Eedris fires back! Calls Obasanjo a ‘Mugu’

Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has called Olusegun Obasanjo's a
'Mugu' after the former president recently criticized him for
recording his 2004 hit song 'Jaga jaga'.
Obasanjo while speaking at a forum organized by Nigeria Leadership
Initiative (NLI) on Tuesday, August. 28, 2012, recalled Abdulkareem's
2004 hit track 'Jaga jaga' sayng that the KENNIS Music rapper doesn't
believe in the future of the country.
Apparently angered by Obasanjo's statement, Abdulkreem took to
micro-blogging site Twitter to bear his mind out.
Eedris called OBJ his 'joy therapy', stating it is obvious 'Obasanjo
can't do without him' 'It's obvious that Obasanjo can't do without me.
I'm his joy therapy. Mr expresident, Nigeria still dey jagajaga infact
worst pass jagajaga', @idris_Abdulkarm tweeted.
He then called Obasanjo a Boko Haram member challenging him to let
'Goodluck rule in peace'. 'President Obasanjo if you trully love
Goodluck as u claimed why dont you talk to your fellow boko haram
member to let Goodluck rule in peace'.
Eedris didn't stop there as he then went on to call the. PDP leader
a 'mugu', 'Mr expresident, I heard you were talking about me in ur
last interview hahahahahhahah its obvious you cant do without me.you
are my mugu. Obasanjo na my mugu oooo na jeje i dey, u dey look for
trouble oooo….
hahahahahhahahahahhahahah'.
'Mr ex president, u be my mugu!', he added. Eedris says he is
inspired and will be hitting the studio to record a new song titled
'Obasanjo na my friend'.
'Watchout for my new single Obasanjo na my friend…Obasanjo, thank you
for making me a star infact talk more about me. I'm inspired!!', he
tweeted.

NBC bans Wande Coal’s ‘Go low’ video

Wande Coal's latest video 'Go low' has received a ban from the
National Broadcasting Commission, a week and two days after the video
was premiered.
We're told the NBC has released a list of videos which. included the
MAVIN Records' video which was directed and shot by Mr Moe Musa in the
UK.
The NTBB (not to be broadcast) ban however only. restricts the video
from being played on 'Free-to-air' TV stations. That means viewers of
cable TV stations can. still watch the video as the ban doesn't affect
them from playing it.
