FIRE ABUSE :AS MAN SETS LOVER ON FIRE IN IKOTUN, LAGOS

A 35-year-old lady yesterday told how her live-in lover poured fuel on
her and set her ablaze in Ikotun area of Lagos State.

The lady, Janet Udegba said her lover, Mr. Kehinde Adesamuye, 39, set
her on fire because he was angry and jealous over her relationship
with other men. She said she was at the Junction where she does her
business of selling cooked Indomie before kehinde came that night,
poured petrol on her and lit it with fire.
Janet however says Nigerians should not let kehinde go scot free with
what he has done to her.

''My husband has always been jealous. He used to beat me every time,
under any guise and excuse.
I've tried several times to leave him, but he always threatens to harm
me. I stayed with him because I was afraid of him and my life. He
always told me that I could never escape from him, except I leave
Lagos State. Anytime I said I was leaving him, he would say, no
problem, but that he would do something to me which I would not
forget. Now, see what he had done to me. He wanted to kill me.

"I used to sell indomie at Ikotun round about. There are other men and
women selling there too. We're all friends. Last two weeks Friday, one
of the traders had a baby. We went for the naming ceremony. Kehinde
was there with me. One of the traders gave me a drink; I just took a
sip because I was in my flow.
"That was how it all started. He said I was kissing another man in his
presence. He said that I sipped from the bottle that the man drank
from. Right there, he started threatening that he was going to deal
with me when we get home.

To be on the safe side, I called my younger sister, telling her that I
might come over to spend the night at her place. I didn't want him to
beat me. When we got home, he cursed, abused and said all sort of
things, but I didn't respond or reply because I didn't want him to
pounce on me. This behaviour continued till Saturday. He even kicked
off the bed, but I didn't mind. I slept on the floor.

When I woke up on Sunday, he had gone out. I rushed to take my bath
because I wanted to leave the house before he came back. But he
suddenly came back, and started beating me for no reason. He beat so
much that I thought he was going to kill me. It was due to the
intervention of our landlord that he left me. After that beating, I
moved in with my younger sister."

Government should make sure Kehinde pays for what he did to me. I am
an orphan. I have no father or mother. I sell Indomie to live. Now,
I've spent all my money. In fact, I need help she said.
For reasons best known to Kehinde, he started sending friends to
Janet's shop, to beg on his behalf. He wanted her to forgive him and
come back. But she refused. Last week Tuesday, Kehinde came to the
shop with another friend to beg once more, but Janet told him that she
was through with the relationship. Fuming, Kehinde jumped up from his
seat, told her that he had nothing against her leaving, but that he
was going to deal with her. He made good the threat by dousing her.

The following day, Kehinde was arrested by policemen as he was
strolling along the streets of Ikotun.

TOOLZ EXCLUSIVE: 'WHY I'M LAUNCHING MY WEBSITE'

The dashing BEAT FM 99.9 radio personality opened up on why she
thought of having her personal website.

'A good friend of mine who is in social media advised me about 18
months ago to have my own (web) site as in his own words 'all media
personalities should have one'. But as I felt I was still very new to
the industry it just didn't feel like the right time',Toolz explains.

She said she forget about the whole idea until earlier in the year
when she travelled on holidays and paid a visit to BBC Radio 1Xtra
studios in the UK.

'I was having a discussion with one of their producers, and they asked
if I would like to be a guest on Tim Westwood's show – I jumped at the
opportunity. They have to get background info on all their guests
before final approval, and they asked for my website and bio, and of
course I didn't have one. I decided then and there to get the wheels
moving on my website', she says.

So what should fans expect from the website? Toolz says it isn't going
to be your formal profile-bio-photo portal as she's got great plans
for us!

'It initially was supposed to be an online home for my bio and bits
and pieces of work that I've done, but after consulting with my friend
once more, he convinced me to make the idea much bigger, and thus
'www.ToolzO.net' was born'.

She discloses that the site will focus heavily on music, feature
interviews, news articles and will also showcase work she has done
like 'The Juice' shows for Ndani TV, interviews she's had and much
more.

'I also plan to put new projects on www.ToolzO.net – there are several
TV ideas that I havethat have been 'under development' for an
annoyingly long period of time. Developing and airing TV projects can
be very hard to execute in Nigeria, but I believe there's always a way
around all hurdles. I feel the online platform is quite under-used in
Nigeria, and having my own website will allowme to essentially get the
content that I'm passionate about out there'.

Without D'Banj, I Would Have Been A Waste, He Made Me-- Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy and D'Banj

The name Don Jazzy today surely commands some respect in the Nigerian
showbiz world. A decade ago, when such name is mentioned, questions
would arise about who and what does the name mean. Like that tiny tear
in a cloth that was never quickly stitched, Don Jazzy expanded and
took many by storm in the entertainment industry to the extent that
there is nothing anyone can do about him anymore.

To some industry icons he used to see as 'big thing' in the game,
this multiple award-winning producer has surpassed
them. Not wanting the Yoruba proverbial saying that 'the river
that forgets its source would get dried up', Don Jazzy went online to
give honour to those due, especially those who have influenced his
booming career.

After paying his first respect to 2Face, he stated about JJC when he
posted, "Kudos to JJC for without him, I would still be doing 'tungba'
(local) music. [I am] not saying that it (tungba music) is not good.
But I found out I was better doing something else."

Turning to D'Banj, Don Jazzy has this to say, "KUDOS to my bro, D'Banj
for without him, my production skills I gathered from JJC might have
been a waste. Dude made me Don Jazzy." He went ahead to honour Wande
Coal, D'Prince and
others including his Federal Government College, Ijanikin, Lagos pals.

I WANT TO BE BURIED AT STAMFORD BRIDGE-MR IBU

John Okafor, who is popularly known as Mr Ibu, talked about his
burning desire which many can not even fathom while while watching
this clown do his thing. Check out what he said below:

The Enugu State-born thespian in a recent interview gave what many
would tag 'Soccer Shocker when he said he would not mind to be
interred at Stamford Bridge, the home ground of European Champions,
Chelsea Football Club. He said: "Yes of course, blue is the colour of
my blood. It runs in my blood stream. I will remain a Chelsea fan
until I die. When you love something, you must be addicted to it. A
typical example is Indian hemp smokers. They only understand languages
relating to Indian hemp. When an Indian hemp smoker is talking, his
spirit can automatically tell him to shut up and he will obey. The
same Indian hemp spirit can equally order him to pull off his clothes
and go Unclad. The message I am passing to you is that I am completely
addicted to the affairs of Chelsea as a football team. I love Chelsea
so much that I don't care if I'm buried at Stamford Bridge.

"Funny enough, all Chelsea victories are magical. If you want to know
whether I am a true fan of Chelsea ask me the names of all their
players and the positions they play. I can also tell you the best
player in every position. Anelka was a roving player that helps other
strikers when he was around. The only problem he had was
inconsistency. He does well, sometimes he functions well, and some
other times he does not. My problem with Mata is that he is a one
legged player. Hulk is supposed to be with us but I do not know what
happened. I call him Incredible Hulk because he wears the look. I am
happy that Hazard is now with us and has been doing very well since he
came on board." He added.

DON JAZZY; “TUFACE HAS GREATLY INFLUENCED ME”

Award-winning producer, Michael Collins, popularly known as Don Jazzy
discovered #Kudos was a Lagos trend on twitter and used that
opportunity to give it to some people who deserve it.

In his tweet about Tuface, he said the African music icon has greatly
influenced him. "#KUDOS to our baba 2face for just being who he is. i
dont think he knows how much he has influenced me."

Don Jazzy also gave kudos to his number one critic and brother,
D'Prince who he said challenged him to do more.
"#KUDOS to D'Prince who made sure he criticized all my beats till I
made Tongolo remix. I kinda always wanted to prove to him I could do
it."

And for those who still thinks he's not in good terms with D'Banj, Don
Jazzy has this to say;
"@DONJAZZY: #KUDOS to my bro Dbanj for without him my production
skills i gathered from JJC might have been a waste. dude made me don
jazzy." Obviously, Don Jazzy still regards D'Banj a brother.

You have to love Don Jazzy, he's this good producer with a grateful
heart. He also gave kudos to Wande Coal and JJC.
"@DONJAZZY: #KUDOS to Wandecoal for making my beats sound great with
his voice from heaven. and for the name Don baba J"
"@DONJAZZY: #Kudos 2 JJC 4 w/out him i wld still B doing tungba music.
not saying that is not gd. but i found out i was better doing
something else"

Don Jazzy wants his twitter verification ASAP. We hope twitter read this;
"@DONJAZZY: No #Kudos to twitter for not verifying me o. lol
apparently has something to do with amount of people im following blah
blah blah"
