Ugo Ozuah allegedly shot dead by police just 5days after his wedding

Ugo Ozuah was allegedly shot by men of the Nigerian police force in
front of the UPS office on the Gbagada Express way on Thursday
September 20th. He died early this morning at a
hospital in Lagos. Ugo just got married last Saturday September 15th, 2012.

Details as to what really happened that Thursday night are sketchy but
according to friends of the late businessman, he was at the
expressway with another friend trying to flag down a taxi around 9 at
night, when policemen pulled up and shot him twice in the chest at
close range.

They said he was not resisting arrest, he wasn't arguing with the
police, he was not asked to identify himself, he was just standing
there with a friend and got killed for no reason. Sounds crazy to me!
The IG of police has said the men that killed the newly married man
were not policemen...but they were wearing police uniform, so who were
they?

This is truly sad, and quite unfortunate! I can't even imagine what
his wife would be going through now. Hopefully, Ugo's family will get
justice for this senseless killing!

$1M FOR KANYE WEST SEX TAPE

American online journal, Radaronline.com says it has a sex tape
involving rapper, Kanye West and an unidentified lady described as a
Kim Kardashian look-a-like.

According to the website, the 20 minutes tape looked like it was shot
in a hotel room with Kanye and the lady as actors.

The lady at the begining of the video disclosed her age to be 18 and
added that although she is married, she would like to have sex with
the rapper because she and her husband no longer do, 'My husband and I
don't have sex anymore… that's why I'm here!', she reportedly said.

Kanye was also reported to have set the camera up himself.

After the camera was set, Radar alleges Kanye then procedded to have a
steamy sex romp with the lady in different positions, wearing a condom
though.

'The sex tape is being shopped right now and there's a lot of
interest, but Kanye is freaking out!" the insider revealed. He doesn't
want this tape out and will do anything to make sure it stays private.
If this were to hit the market it would be worth a fortune… there
would definitely be a lot of people wanting to see this!. In my expert
opinion Kanye's performance far outweighs Kim's!" said a sex industry
insider, according to Radar

Not long ago, Kanye tweeted about how he used Kim's sex tape as
'viagra' long before he began dating her.

Like Huffintgon Post puts it – at least Kim will know exactly how to
comfort her boyfriend when/if the tape gets to go public?

Meanwhile, sex.com says they're offering to pay $1m – or more -for the
video. 'Kanye West is an artist, one of the world's biggest stars, and
ultimately a sex symbol which is why the curiosity of the public
cannot go on. By making a Kanye West sex-tape public, Sex.com feels
that he and current girlfriend Kim Kardashian will become the first
celebrity sex-tape power couple. They will be the epitome of Western
tabloid culture. The public already craves any details released about
their relationship and this tape, filmed pre-relationship, will
provide a frank view of the relationship's inception and confirm
Kanye's rumoured obsession with the reality TV star', a statement from
the 'Pinterest for Porn' site reads.

PHOTOS : MOREE THAN TENS OF THOUSANDS PROTEST ANTI-ISLAM FILM IN KANO

Tens of thousands of people on Saturday protested on the streets of
Kano against an anti-Islam film made in the US that has stirred
outrage across the Muslim world.

The crowd of demonstrators stretched several kilometres through the
city, with protesters shouting "Death to America, death to Israel and
death to the enemies of Islam".

The rally was being organised by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, a
pro-Iranian group that adheres to the Shiite branch of Islam, which
has operated in Africa's most populous country since the late 1970s.

"We are out today to express our rage and disapproval over this
blasphemous film," said Muhammed Turi, a member of the Islamic
Movement and one of the protest leaders.

"This protest is also aimed at calling on the US government to put a
halt to further blasphemy against Islam," he added.

Demonstrators carried pictures of US President Barack Obama, as well
as American and Israeli flags as they marched towards a palace owned
the Emir of Kano, the top religious figure in the city of roughly 4.5
million people. Others were waving Iranian flags.

The low-budget film "Innocence of Muslims" has incited a wave of
bloody anti-American violence in cities across the Muslim world, with
protests occurring in more than 20 countries.

The comedian who also lost his darling wife and partner barely over a
year ago, in a phone chat with HVP  admitted the experience was one of
the most trying times in his life as he was left confused and
devastated.

He said he would never forget the experience and prayed that even his
enemies should not have to go through what he went through.

"My brother, this is not something I prayed for, even for my enemies.
It is something I hate talking about but I thank God for absolving me
of the alleged act" he said. In the same vein, the comedian, also
confirmed the story making rounds that he is set to go on the big
screen to tell the story of his incarceration by NDLEA but said  he
hasn't said any real work on the movie.

He said: "There is a film I am working on right now but whether I plan
to do a movie on that matter, I will say yes. Maybe in the future
though many people have contacted me to do a movie but I am still
taking my time and God's  willing, I shall visit that matter as soon
as I can get myself together."

million to the actor  as compensation for detaining him  unduly  over
allegation of drug trafficking.

NOLLYWOOD LATEST : The Worst Thing I've Heard About Myself -Cossy Orjiakor

Nollywood actress, singer and dancer, Cossy Orjiakor is a lady a lot
of people mixed feelings for. While some love her for being herself,
others have this negative impression about her and this bothers her a
lot.

The sexy and bursty actress has said that out of all the things ever
writing about her, the only one that bothered her so much was the
affair with dog story. This is what she said, "the worst rumour I have
heard about myself was that dog story where it was alleged that I
slept with
a dog. It was so terrible that even the producer and director denied
me. It got me thinking that what of if I was dead.

If they had the mind to deny a living person, then, they can as well
poison you. I took the producer to court because I served them court
papers. We got the video and my mother said if these people can go to
this extent to tarnish me, then they can do worse and she advised that
I should just leave them.

It was actually my mother that made me forget about the matter
because my sister is a lawyer and she was working for Ricky Tafa, a
law firm based in Abuja. She was ready to take up the case but my mum
asked me to forget about it and I did." During the whole saga, Cossy
said she never for once changed her perception about the industry as
it's one of those things to
experience as a notable face in Nollywood.

"The experience didn't stop me from acting. If I am called upon to
take up a movie role, I go but I am very particular about roles. I
love my life. I can't really go to a place where I will be scared.
Some people don't like you so you just keep off." She said.

HOLLYWOOD : Dark Knight Tragedy: Shooting Victims Sue Movie Theater for Negligence

You know those emergency exit doors that warn you that an alarm will
go off if you open them? Three victims of the July 20 mass shooting
during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo., have
sued the movie theater for negligence because no such alarm went off.

In two federal lawsuits filed Friday, Denise Traynom, Brandon Axelrod
and Joshua Nowlan allege that the exit door the gunman is said to have
used to access the Cinemark USA-owned Century 16 multiplex should have
been equipped with an alarm. Authorities have alleged that suspect
James Holmes, who has been charged with 24 counts of first-degree
murder and 116 counts of attempted murder, entered the theater through
the front but then propped open a rear exit door so that he could go
to his car to grab the assault rifle and handguns used to massacre a
dozen people and injure 58 others.

According to the Denver Post, the suit also alleges that Cinemark
should have employed heightened security for the midnight screening in
the first place. Each plaintiff is seeking at least $750,000 in
damages. The theater chain had no immediate comment, but the complaint
comes just as Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan and Cinemark president and CEO
Tim Warner expressed mutual excitement that the Century 16, closed
since the shooting, would be ready to reopen by the beginning of next
year.

"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all those affected by
the tragic events of July 20th," Warner wrote in a letter to Hogan
just yesterday. "We too have been overwhelmed by the spirit of Aurora
which extends to us and to our employees around the world. We will
never forget the victims and their families.

" The letter continued, "It will be our privilege to reopen the
theater. We pledge to reconfigure the space and make the theater
better than ever." In response, the mayor released the following
statement on the city of Aurora's website: "The responses indicate
overwhelming support to reopen the theater with renovations. The
theater has been a valued part of our community for many years, and
just as they have been all along, I am confident Cinemark will
continue to remain sensitive to victims, their families, their
employees and our community throughout their process of remodeling and
reopening.

"We will always remember those who lost their lives and the many
others impacted that day. While no one will ever forget that day, this
is another step in the community's healing." culled from eonline.com

CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY - KING SUNNY ADE !!!

KING SUNNY ADE'S LIFE OVERVIEW

Birth nameSunday Adeniyi Born September 22, 1946 (age 66) Oshogbo
OriginOndo, Nigeria GenresJùjú,Yearsactive1960s–present "King" Sunny
Adé (born Sunday Adeniyi, September 22, 1946) is a popular performer
of Yoruba Nigerian jùjú music and a pioneer of modern world music. He
has been classed as one of the most influential musicians of all
time.[1]

Adé was born to a Nigerian royal family in Ondo, thus making him an
Omoba of the Yoruba people. His father was a church organist, while his
mother was a trader. Adé left grammar school in Ondo under the
pretense of going to the University of Lagos. There, in Lagos, his
mercurial musical career started.

Sunny Adé's Musical Sound has evolved from the early days. His career
began with Moses Olaiya's Federal Rhythm Dandies, a highlife band.

He left to form The Green Spots in 1967. Over the years, for various
reasons ranging from changes in his music to business concerns, Sunny
Adé's band changed its name several times, first to African Beats and
then to Golden Mercury.

Sunny Adé's music is characterised by, among other instruments, the
talking drum - an instrument indigenous to his Yoruba roots, the
guitar and his peculiar application to jùjú music, that would easily
put him in the same class as guitar musicians like Santana.

His music is in the age old tradition of singing poetic lyrics ("Ewi"
in Yoruba) and praise of dignitaries as well components of "juju"
(traditional African belief) called the "Ogede"-"casting a spell".
Hence, Adé's music constitutes a record of the oral tradition of his
people for posterity.

Sunny Adé was the first to introduce the pedal steel guitar to
Nigerian pop music. He was the first to introduce the use of
synthesizers, clavinet, vibraphone, tenor guitar into the jùjú music
repertoire such as dub and wah-wah guitar licks.

Sunny has collaborated with major artists such as Manu Dibango
(WAKAFRIKA) and Stevie Wonder (played harmonica in Aura).

Sunny Adé's brief recordings with Island records opened the floodgates
for other world music artist like Senegalese Youssou N'Dour, Mali's
Salif Keita and a host of others.

In 1987, Sunny Adé returned to international spotlight when Rykodisc
released a live concert he did in Seattle and was given an astonishing
embrace by fans across the globe who were eager for another
international album release.

He soon employed an American manager, Andrew Frankel, negotiated
another three album record deal with the Mesa record label (a Division
of Paradise Group) in America. One of these albums was 1998's Odu, a
collection of traditional Yoruba songs, with which he was nominated
for the second Grammy Award and thus making him the first African to
be nominated twice for a Grammy.

Apart from being an international musician Sunny Adé is also prominent
in his native Nigeria, running multiple companies in several
industries, creating a non-profit organization called the King Sunny
Adé Foundation, and working with the Musical Copyright Society of
Nigeria.

In recent times, hip hop music appears to be holding sway with the
electronic media in Nigeria with massive airplays. Nonetheless, Sunny
Adé's musical output has continued to inspire a vast generation of
other Nigerian musicians, who believe in the big band musical set up
which Sunny Adé and late Fela Kuti are noted for.

The musician, Lagbaja is one of the very many musicians Sunny Adé's
music has inspired. In 2008, his contributions to world music was
recognised; as he was given an award for his outstanding contribution
to world music at the Reggae and world music awards held at the
Appollo Theater in Harlem, New York.

In the 1980s Adé embarked on a career in Hollywood. His music was
featured in the 1983 film Breathless, starring Richard Gere, and the
1986 comedy One More Saturday Night, and he acted in Robert Altman's
1987 comedy O.C. and Stiggs.

The entire YB entertainment celebrates you sir !! Happy Birthday King Sunny Ade
