Photos of 37-year-old Richard Lee Norris who was given the most extensive face transplant ever performed.

University of Maryland Medical Center officials Tuesday said they've
had success in rebuilding the face of a 37-year-old Hillsville,
Virginia native who was disfigured in a 1997 gun accident.

Richard Lee Norris can eat with his mouth, taste and smell more than
seven months after a landmark 36-hour surgery this past March designed
to put his face together "in the most aesthetic manner possible,"
doctors said, noting the mug came from an unnamed donor.

In a statement released by the university, Norris said his quality of
life has exponentially improved since the March procedure, in which
doctors replaced his teeth, tongue, skin and jaws.

"For the past 15 years I lived as a recluse hiding behind a surgical
mask and doing most of my shopping at night when less people were
around," he wrote. "I am now able to walk past people and no one even
gives me a second look. My friends have moved on with their lives,
starting families and careers.

"I can now start working on the new life given back to me."

Dr. Eduardo D. Rodriguez, who led the operation which more than 100
health professionals added their expertise to, said Norris has
exceeded his expectations and shown great courage and commitment in
his battle.

The groundbreaking surgical procedure could be applied to future
operations on injured servicemen, officials said.

Man parades His manhood to mother-in-law to prove he is man enough

A man protested eviction from his in-law's flat located in Bulawayo
city centre last Tuesday by allegedly stripping naked, parading his
sexual anaconda to his mother-in-law.

Thulumani Tshuma is accused of dropping his trousers and underwear for
his mother-in-law, Lydia Ntaisi in protest of the eviction news.
Ntaisi who is mother to Tshuma's live-in
girlfriend had gone to enforce an eviction which had been ordered by
her husband – to tell their daughter Estelly Nkiwane and her man to
pack their property and hand over the keys.

Nkiwane and Tshuma have been cohabiting at an apartment belonging to
the former's family. This has been reportedly going on for the past
three years without the approval of the
Nkiwanes.

"Tshuma has been cohabiting with my daughter since 2009 and we were
beginning to appreciate him as our son-in-law although he lacked the
humanity and courtesy to initiate traditional formalities between us
and his family. My husband has never set foot at our flat because he
respectsthe privacy of our daughter. However, we have informed them
(Nkiwane and Tshuma) several times that we intend to renovate the
apart hence they should look for alternative accommodation but they
have never heeded our message," Ntaisi said.

She added that contractors were expected to start working on the flat
on Sunday as such her husband instructed her to go and tell them to
pack 'immediately'.

"When I got to 6th Avenue, I phoned my daughter but her phone went
unanswered. I wanted her to come downstairs so that I can have a word
with her. I was left with no choice but to go up the stairs. I was
welcomed by Tshuma who told me that his live-in girlfriend was not
around. I then delivered the seemingly unpalatable news to him and he
burnt in emotion and shouted what!," she said. Ntaisi added:

"He plainly told me to go back home and think twice about the news
that I had just delivered and I should admit that in the process I
lost my marbles and ended up telling him to be man enough and seek
accommodation for his family."

Probably in attempt to show his mother-in-law that he was man enough,
Tshuma allegedly dropped both his jean trousers and underwear to
expose his 'live and kicking' manhood.

According to a tenant at the flat, Ntaisi was heard screaming and
running down the stairs. "We heard her (Ntaisi) screaming and went out
to inspect what was happening and only to find Estelly's husband naked
in the corridor," Elvis Machirori said.

Ntaisi went down hurling insults and stopped briefly to narrate her
ordeal to vendors close to Tredgold magistrates' building. So
temperamental was she that in the process of
telling her story she broke down in tears, before phoning her daughter
informing her that she was going to make a report at Bulawayo central
police station.

Tshuma confirmed to our news crew that there was a misunderstanding
between his mother-in- law and himself but denied exposing his 'sperm
sprinkler'.

"She came and shouted and I humbly told her that I needed to be
respected because I am also a man," he said before hanging up the
phone. Nkiwane's two brothers were not pleased by the news, as a
result they went and allegedly assaulted Tshuma before throwing him
out of the flat.

US AMBASSADOR - NIGERIANS CAN NOW SECURE AMERICAN VISA WITHIN 20 DAYS

This is good news for Nigerians wishing to travel to the United States
– and you can bet there are a whole lot of them – as it has been
revealed that they can now secure the American visa within 20 days,
and not 150 days anymore.

This was made known by the United States ambassador to Nigeria, His
Excellency Terence McCulley, during an exclusive interview with
LEADERSHIP. According to him, "We recognise that the visa is an
important part of our relationship and we have every interest in
facilitating legitimate travel visas of students, people and tourists
who want to travel to the US as part of dynamic series of exchanges
between both countries."

The ambassador attributed this to the hard work of the consular
offices in both Abuja and Lagos. Both offices have been able to manage
what is a very significant increase in work load without a concomitant
increase in human or physical resources to manage the interviews that
are being undertaken, he added.

Over the past years there had been a huge increase in demand for the
US visa by Nigerians which led to a significant wait time to secure a
visa interview. This, unfortunately, had permitted middle men and
touts to grab appointments and then resell them, he said: "By reducing
the time Nigerians have to wait to secure a visa, we hope to eliminate
these people who are profiting on the gullibility of visa applicants
and we hope to be able to offer better services," he said.

PHOTOS: World’s oldest dad, 96, boasts of sexual ability, welcomed second son with his wife half his age

Indian man Ramajit Raghav became the world's oldest father when his
first son was born in 2010.

Earlier this month, he claimed he had broken his own record. He said
when his wife gave birth to their second son, doctors laughed when he
claimed to be the boy's father. "They were very surprised," Mr Raghav
said.

He attributed his virility to a healthy lifestyle, eating lots of
fruit and dairy products and having sex three or four times a night.
"My neighbours are jealous and they keep asking me for my secret, but
all I tell them is that it is God's will," he said.

"I think it's very important for a husband and wife to have sex
regularly and when she asks I will go on all night, but for the sake
of my child I've put our needs aside for now."

The strict vegetarian and former wrestler said his daily diet included
two litres of milk, fresh vegetables and chapattis (Indian flat
bread).

Mr Raghav met his wife Shankuntala Devi sitting next to a Muslim
shrine 22 years ago when he asked her to come home with him.

"She didn't have any family or friends around, and I wanted to help
her," he said. "I took her under my wing and taught her some yoga and
we fell in love."

Their child is healthy and is at home with his parents at their unit
on the outskirts of Delhi. The couple aren't planning on having any
more children.
