Boko Haram plans “massive attacks” during Eid-El-Kabir

The Nigeria Joint Military Task Force (JTF) on Tuesday said it had
uncovered a plot by Boko Haram Islamists to carry out "massive
attacks" during an upcoming Muslim festival with the help of foreign
mercenaries.

A spokesman said the insurgents were planning to strike in an
embattled northeastern state during Eid-El-Kabir, typically called
Sallah in Nigeria, which this year falls on October 25 and 26.

"Information available to the Joint Task Force indicates that the Boko
Haram terrorists are planning to launch massive attacks on military
and civilian targets in Borno state before, during and after the
forthcoming Sallah celebrations," Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa said
in a statement.

"We know where they are coming from but we don't want to disclose that
because we don't want to pre-empt our security arrangement to tackle
them".

Nigerian security forces have frequently exaggerated their success in
cracking down on Boko Haram and it was impossible to verify their
claims on Tuesday.

It is well oooooooo !!!!!!

Death Row : Oshiomhole under pressure to withdraw Dealth warrant

Amnesty International, a global human rights group, raised the alarm
on Monday that the inmates might have been executed and pleaded with
the governor to spare their lives and allow their appeal to go through
the judicial process.

Back home, a coalition of human rights groups and lawyers met in Abuja
for several hours, Tuesday, brainstorming on how best to convince
Oshiomhole to rescind his execution
order and give the two condemned men another chance to live.

The crucial meeting, which was convened by lawyers under the auspices
of Prison Reforms and Decongestion Initiative, met with officials of
the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, in Abuja and considered
options available to save the lives of the two embattled men.

Consequently, the group decided to send a letter to the Edo State
Governor, pleading with him to temper justice with mercy by
withdrawing the execution warrant in respect of the two men already
condemned to death.

Additionally, they decided to meet the Attorney General of the
Federation, Mohammed Adoke, to intervene and halt the execution of the
two men, since Nigeria had an existing moratorium on non-execution of
death row prisoners.

The team was also to meet with the Comptroller General of the Nigerian
Prisons last night to also seek his cooperation and understanding in
preserving the lives of the two men pending the hearing and
determination of an appeal filed by them against their execution.

But a senior prisons official who was at the meeting, said the team
needed to act fast since the governor had the right under Nigerian law
to sign a death warrant before an inmate is released by for execution.

The groups decided to send an emissary to Oshiomhole to plead further
with him and to apologise over certain issues relating to the inmates,
which the governor is said to have taken exception to.

The governor had defended his decision to kill the two men and spare
the lives of five others who were presented to him, pointing out that
they did not deserve to live given the gravity of their bestial acts
against their victims.

“GROW UP BOSS” – GT DA GUITARMAN ATTACKS OLISA ADIBUA (beat FM.)

Quite literally, there is a storm brewing between GT Da Guitarman and
his former boss at Storm Records, Olisa Adibua.

The crux of the matter is that, Adibua, who is currently the Programs
Director at The Beat FM, is allegedly refusing to play his songs at
the station. "As ma radio presenter former boss no wan gree play my
song for station wey no be him papa own..Grow up boss", he vented in
one tweet.

Another read: "My outlook on life is soo different now mehn..if u r

GT left Storm Records two years ago, after he complaining he wasn't
receiving as much attention as the other artistes on the Obi Asika
owned outfit. He eventually quit, after releasing
his album amidst controversy.

Although he did not mention names, it is clear he was referring to
Olisa Adibua, who presents the Morning Rush on the station.

Olisa Adibua himself, has fallen out at Storm, after a reported
disagreement with Obi Asika.

Why I gave Boko Haram N1.5 million for Sallah rams – Senator Zanna

Remember Senator Zanna was invited by the SSS yesterday. Well another
story came up; the senator had to explain to the men who interrogated
him why he gave Boko Haram
members N1.5M for Sallah rams.

Monday night, Zanna arrived at the SSS headquarters in Abuja at about
1 pm where he was processed for interrogation.

He gave further insight into his relationship with the dreaded
Islamist sect and reiterated his denial that Bama was arrested in his
Maiduguri home.

He told his interrogators that he gave N1.5 million for Sallah rams to
the sect members following their threat to attack him.

He explained that when they took his aide to his house for a search,
they retrieved N250, 000 and left a message with the aide for him that
he should provide them N10 million or they would come for him.

The senator, who was released at about 10 pm, is expected to report
back at the SSS headquarters by 11am Tuesday.

The bottom line of it all is that, he SSS men during their
interrogation with the Senator found out that, the Senator still
communicates with his nephew, Bama the Boko Haram
member, but the Senator insists it is not true.

Chris Brown broke up with gal pal Karrueche Tran, saying he didn't
want to see her hurt because of his "friendship" with Rihanna. Well,
it appears they still can't stay away from each other.

Two days after hooking up with Ri-Ri at a Beverly Hills bash, the
"Run It" singer was snapped Monday afternoon leaving his place with
the 24-year-old Tran, and they reportedly took off in separate cars.

Rihanna and Chris Brown cozy up at a Beverly Hills party A source
exclusively tells E! News that Brown and Tran remain very close
friends and that they've been spending time together to work on a
photo shoot.

The two reportedly have a very good working relationship, but our

Showbiz, the pair stopped at a gas station together, where Brown, 23,
kindly had his bodyguard hand Tran $20 to pay for her gas.

Obama Sold Cocaine In College ; Trumped-Up Charges? Republicans Rejected Mans Claims

A man claiming to be a close pal to President Obama during college
made contact with Republican operatives recently, ready to go public
with claims that Obama used and sold cocaine in college,
RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.

The operatives tried to spread the story through the media and the
Romney campaign, a source close to the situation told Radar. At first
he wanted to do a book, a source close to the situation told our
source about the alleged college pal. But there just was not enough
time before the election.

The people he is involved with have produced other credible
information that is damaging to national Democratic figures in the
past few years.

Operatives close to the Romney campaign were contacted and rejected
the information, the source told source .

They didnt want anything to do with it, the source said. They thought
it was not anything they wanted to be associated with or anything
their candidate would want to be associated with. In fact, the mans
charges about Obama never reach Mitt Romney.

A proposal of the mans story was created and viewed by Radar. The
document claims that there are multiple sources who can back up
allegations that Obama used and sold cocaine in college.

The alleged pal was willing to go on the record for the story and take
a polygraph test, according to the source.

The operatives close to the Romney campaign believed the mans story
would be the ultimate October Surprise but they got nowhere.People who
would have taken the information to the highest levels of Romneys
campaign just wouldnt touch it.

They dont want their candidate smeared with this type of activity.

Motorcyclist sells nurse to ritual killers for N10,000 only

A commercial motorcyclist, identified simply as Ifeanyi, has been
arrested for allegedly handing over a nurse, Mrs. Helen Ilonge
(picture above), to ritual killers after collecting
N10, 000.

Punch Metro learnt that Ilonge had on Tuesday last week took Ifeanyi's
motorcycle on her way to Igoli along the Ogoja-Ikom Highway in Ogoja
LGA.

Ilonge, the coordinator of Primary Health Care in Bekwarra Local
Government Area of Cross River State, was coming from a programme at
the Assemblies of God. Church, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, and had
alighted from a vehicle at Okpongrinya junction before taking the
bike.

It was gathered that Ilonge (51) was beheaded while her other vital
reproductive parts such as breast and vagina were removed for ritual
purposes.

Ilonge's neighbour, Mrs. Theresa Idagwu, on Sunday said, "Ifeanyi took
the lady from Okpogrinya Junction on the pretence that he was taking
her to the village, which is 10
minutes drive from the point.

But along the way, he stopped and handed her over to kidnappers at
Ukpe. Meanwhile, the woman had called her daughter, Victoria, around
9pm that she had taken a bike at Okpogrinya Junction on her way to
Igoli.

She said when she gets to her destination; she would call again so
that Victoria would boil water for her to take her bath. That was
Ilonge's last call." Repeated calls made to the woman's line,
according to Idagwu, indicated that it was switched off.

She said Ilonge's family became worried when the woman did not return
home. "We went everywhere- police stations, hospitals and even her
friends in Igoli, thinking that may be an accident had occurred along
the road but we got nothing,

" Idagwu added. Two days later, Idagwu said someone called Victoria on
her phone and informed her that her mother had been kidnapped. The
caller demanded a ransom of N50, 000 to be remitted in form of
recharge cards.

She said, "Since her daughter could no raise the money, she rushed to
the Bekwarra LGA headquarters where the head of administration, Mr.
Bisong Bogbo, and the chairman, Mr. Linus Edeh, provided the money
with which she bought recharge cards and sent to the caller.

"The voice claimed that he needed the recharge cards so he could sell
and run away from his master who is a ritual killer. He claimed that
he had been serving his master for a long time and wanted to run away.

He said once he gets the cards, he will break the door where the
nurse is being kept and release her." The LGA's head of
administration, Bogbo, confirmed that the cards were sent to the
kidnapper through Victoria's telephone.

He said immediately the alleged kidnapper confirmed receipt of the
cards; he switched off his telephone. Luck, however, ran out of
Ifeanyi. Policemen tracked his telephone line and discovered that he
called Victoria from Abuochiche. Further investigations, it was
gathered, showed that Ifeanyi had been selling the cards in the
village immediately he got them.

When he was arrested, Bogbo told our correspondent that Ifeanyi led
the police to one of the ritual killers identified simply as Elvis.
Elvis, according to Bogbo, confessed that the nurse had already been
killed and some of her vital organs removed before Ifeanyi asked for
the recharge cards.

Elvis also said the remains of the woman were buried in a swamp. At
the council headquarters, one of the late nurse's colleagues, Mr.
Gabriel Ogar, said she was probably the kindest woman he ever worked
with.

Ogar said, "I have worked with five coordinators, but I know that she
is just the best so far. She worked to the admiration of Governor
Liyel Imoke and now she has been killed leaving her five children
without a helper.

"Her husband died 12 years ago and since then she has been the one
taking care of the children and only one has. graduated. Please let
the government do something for those poor children." When contacted
on Monday, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Osita Ezechukwu, said
the police were still investigating the matter.

He said four suspects had been apprehended by the anti-
homicide unit, adding that when the investigation was completed the
suspects would be prosecuted. "We have taken confessional statement
from them.

Those who are not involved have been allowed to go while those who are
involved are still in detention," Ezechukwu said.

Hollywood Reacts to Final Debate: Obama's Horses & Bayonets vs. Romney's Very Strong America

Barack Obama and Mitt Romney threw down the gauntlet one last time
tonight--and the Twitterverse was ready.

The politically inclined corner of Hollywood was again hanging on
every word of the candidates' third and final debate before the Nov. 6
election, this one devoted to foreign policy and how the sitting
president and his challenger plan to lead the United States forward.

Here's what the celebs had to say in 140 characters (or much, much
more): Michelle Obama: Barack's steady leadership has made us stronger
and safer than we were four years ago. That was clear tonight.
-mo#ProudOfObama Bill Maher: OK, one last try: We have fewer Andrews
Sisters and Ritz Brothers than we did in 1944. So glad we're done with
THAT!...Plus: I've seen wider ideological differences between
Jehovah's Witnesses...And:

First debate, all agreed, Obama lost; second one, i say he won, but
Romney not trounced. But this one? Only bubbledwellers can say Mitt
won. Alec Baldwin: Point goes to Mitt that China is a currency
manipulator...And: O is cool, collected, Presidential. Mitt is
throwing everything at the screen except the Pumpkin Papers. Sarah
Silverman:

Leaders aren't leaders because they really really wanna be the leader

pathetic opinions? Oh, wait I just did! Carry on.

GOBAMA!! Michelle Williams: Lawd Lawd.....a twitter page called
Romney's Airbrush is following me! Hahahahahahahahaha! Good Night!
Hahahahaha!! Giuliana Rancic: I love watching the families chatting on
stage after #debate.

Wish I could read lips!#whatrtheysaying Bette Midler: Ah, bedtime.
Hope I don't wake up in a cold sweat over the undecideds...Plus:
"Something something something on a Cross of Gold!!" "Bayonets and
horses" will go into the history books... Moby: Now listening to jimi
hendrix.

Perfect antidote to mitt romney the whiney liar. The only thing
authentic about mitt romney is his hair. Piers Morgan: VERDICT; Obama
narrow win tonight..polls don't change much tomorrow...race still very
tight.

Kathy Griffin: Wtf? Why aren't my hilarious & astute tweets on the
bottom @MSNBC ticker? Aubrey O'Day: This isn't going to come down to
Romney being a better candidate, he's not. Fact. It's going to come
down to how much one dislikes Obama...Plus: Strongest debate
performance by Obama thus far.

In command of the facts. Happy that Mitt's anxiety & painful
performance has come 2 an end. Michael Moore: Here in Michigan, we
retooled our entire state economy so we could export Romney to
Massachusetts...Plus: Mitt's 5 PointPlan:1.

It's just a jump to the left 2.A step to the right 3.Hands on ur hips
4.Bring ur knees in tight 5.Drive yourself insane Scott Baio: Fact:
During the debate tonight a active duty Marine contacted Fox News to

Governor Fashola is not working as Okada riders protest police harassment, vandalise BRT buses

Commercial activities were disrupted for hours in Onipanu, Fadeyi,
Mushin and Ijora areas of Lagos State on Monday after scores of
commercial motorcycle operators otherwise known as okada riders went
on the rampage to protest against police harassment and the state's
traffic law.

The state government had on August 2, 2012, signed into law, the
restriction of commercial motorcycles on 475 roads, specifically,
bridges, expressways and double-carriage roads.

Last Monday, the police began a clampdown on okada riders resulting in
seizure of motorcycles and harassment of the riders.

Our correspondent, who was in Onipanu, reported that the rampaging
okada riders vandalised five BRT buses, causing a stampede among
passengers.

One of the BRT officials, who refused to identify himself, said the
riders wielded dangerous weapons and forced passengers out of the
buses.

He said, "Around 10am, some motorcyclists accosted some of the buses
that were filled with passengers. The riders wielded cutlasses,
sticks, canes and even catapults.

"They smashed the windscreens of the buses and many of the passengers
even sustained injuries while trying to escape. "After sometime, some
policemen came but the okada riders used catapults to hurl stones at
them. They even overpowered one of the policemen and seized his gun.

Before the policemen could call for back-up, the okada riders drove
against traffic and sped off, making it difficult for policemen to
chase them." Agege Motor Road, Palm Avenue and Idi Araba in Mushin
area were also deserted following similar protests.

An okada rider, Paul Okon, accused the police of extorting money from
them under the pretext of enforcing the law. Okon berated the state
government for not protecting okada riders from police harassment and
for not creating alternative jobs.

He said, "The traffic law restricts okada operation from majorly
expressways and bridges. Most of us have accepted to obey the law but
the police are not enforcing the law the right way.

"Policemen now arrest motorcyclists on backstreets and minor roads and
use it as an avenue to extort money from us. Why can't the state
government protect us from police harassment?

"If a policeman arrests a rider on a non- prohibited road and the
policeman claims he arrested the rider on an expressway, who would
believe the rider? Just yesterday, (Sunday) policemen seized four
motorcycles on Fashoro Street, Surulere and collected N5,000 from each
of them. It's very unfair."

Different police patrol vehicles, some of which were inscribed with
Rapid Response Squad, OPS Attack were seen patrolling Mushin area.
Some policemen were seen shooting into the air. Perhaps, the most
affected area was Ijora Olopa where the riders were said to have
vandalised a large number of BRT buses.

Our correspondent, who visited Costain, saw a red Daewoo LAGBUS with
registration number Lagos XR159-AKD and route number D087 that was
badly damaged.

In the bus, there were shoes, a lady's handbag and some items
suspected to be belonging to passengers who fled when the bus was
attacked. It was later towed to Iponri Police Station.

Meanwhile, no Lagos State Traffic Management Authority official was
seen in the affected areas as most were said to have fled. When our
correspondent visited BRT park, Ojota, it was learnt that five newly
refurbished blue buses were among the vandalised vehicles.

The number of the red LAGBUS vehicles vandalised could not be
ascertained but it was learnt that most of them had been conveyed to
Tafawa Balewa Square.

Public Relations Officer, BRT, Nonye Onwumere, urged the state
government to bring the perpetrators to book.
"These buses are expensive to maintain and members of the public need
to understand that the buses are for public comfort," she said. The
PRO said five blue buses were vandalised and no member of staff was
injured.
