RMD accused of embezzlement, stays silent

Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo is making the headlines again and
it's not because of his appearance of in another high profile soap.

His integrity as the Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism
is seriously being questioned as he has been accused of looting N50
million belonging to the ministry.

RMD is accused of conniving with the General Manager of Delta state's
Tourism Board, Miss Philo Nkem Ajufo while he attempted to keep the
account's treasury open until thinking off holding back an amount of
money that has been available since the 'Delta Expo 2007'.

There is no proof but there was a chain of irregular activities under
subsequent administrations.  However, it was learnt that the state
government could not approve the said amount that same year for some
reasons.

The source said the funds were eventually approved and released to the
ministry of tourism under the leadership of Damijo in May, 2012.

'As soon as the money arrived, the commissioner said that the ministry
could no longer hold the event since six years had elapsed', a source
said

'The Honourable Commissioners also argued that Deltans would have
forgotten about the event – and therefore the money should not be used
for the purpose it was released', the source added.

Some documents obtained by newsmen from the Delta State Ministry of
Finance reportedly show that the N50 million must be spent on the
event for which the Culture Ministry applied for it.

The warrant, which was signed by one P.O. Evuojapha on behalf of the
Commissioner of Finance indicates that N35 million of the funds was
meant for the Tourism Board.

Insiders however said that Damijo allegedly conspired to issue a
cheque of N35m in the name of the General Manager of the state's
Tourism Board, Ms. Ajufo who allegedly deposited the sum into her
First Bank private account number 3006131619.

'Mrs. Ajufo and RMD then shared the money', our sources alleges;
insisting Ms. Ajufo allegedly used her share of the looted funds to
start off a twin duplex building located at No.6 Dunkwu Crescent,
Asaba in June, 2012.

The twin complex we gathered is behind Junior Staff quarters and
opposite one of the branches of Redeemed Christian Church (RCCG) in
the state.

The source further said that tourism board's members had denied
receiving any of the embezzled funds.

'She accused Mr. Mofe Damijo of carting away the whole sum of N50
million even when her account was used to commit the fraud'.

The actor-turned-politician denies all the allegations levelled
against him and maintains he's a silent mouth throughout the whole
drama.

In July 2012, the actor barked at blogger Linda Ikeji when she
reported he had acquired a home reportedly worth about N250m in Asaba,
Delta State.

Usher embarrasses Comedienne Princess in Poju Oyemade’s church

Sunday, November 25, 2012 could have been any other day for Nigerian
comedian Princess but after attending a morning church service at the
Covenant Christian Centre, things took a different turn.

The comedienne says she was publicly embarrassed by one of the ushers
of the church after she was told she couldn't sit in the front row of
the church while Pastor Poju Oyemade was delivering a sermon. The
comedienne says the usher told her he was asking her to leave because
she was 'single'.

The same day, Princess poured out her mind on her Twitter page.

'I can't believe dis Covenant Christian Centre people & their sitting
arrangement. Is dis not supposed to be the house of God?! one usher
told me I couldn't sit in front cos I am single. I nearly died of
embarrassment, in d presence of God! *sad face', @PrincessCOMEDY
lamented.

Princess further explains that the popular Pastor was aware of what
happened as he was present while she rebuked the usher later on at the
car park.

'Y would I lie? I av plenty witnesses. If na lie make their Pastor
confront me,he was there wen I raked 4 d usher later in d car park.
both of dem better b sure of d facts. I was embarrassed & emotionally
rattled. They want 2 look gud 2 Pastor Poju,I only fear God!'.

Her tweets of course caused uproar on the social network with a number
of people taking sides with her and the others defending the church's
action.

When @Im_a_MARVEL asked 'question is what was she wearing? Might be a
good reason to have her seat at d back', Princess replied 'since u av
known me av I EVER dressed improper? They don't want 2 admit dat usher
did wat was WRONG. Sugbon oruko ti ekun a somo e'.

@yewiez tweeted 'I attend C3 (short for Covenant Christian Centre). I
have been told a couple of times by ushers that i can't sit in front
because I'm single'.

But then @oshladiva tweeted 'I attnd CCC,I'm single,I dnt knw nobody
dere n I sit in front quite often,so dats a mute point really.Wat is d
FULL story.Dnt make assumptns/conclusions from 1 persons pt of view'.

As the debate grew bigger with Princess still giving her rant and
other Twitter users dishing out their opinion, Oyemade weighed in on
the matter, making an apology to Princess.

'@PrincessCOMEDY My apologies for what happened on Sunday',
@pastorpoju tweeted. This got Princess more animated as she responded:

'@pastorpoju accepted but I feel really PAINED u waited dis long
knowing wat ur usher did on Sunday was VERY wrong. Its not a sin 2 b
SINGLE! OMG! So u r single too, that usher owes a BIG time apology. He
spoilt my day, made me regret coming to ur church &hurt my feelings'.

She finally calmed down and accepted his apology, explaining to her
fans '@pastorpoju has apologised on bhalf of his usher dt embarrassed
me on Sun. Tanx 2 my friends &fans 4 their words of wisdom while I was
hurtin'

The supposed heartfelt apology might as well not be taken seriously as
the apology tweet has disappeared from the Oyemade's timeline.

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashians, No Make-Up Reveals Cold Sore & Blemishes

Kim Kardashian returned from the Middle East on Sunday with more than
just a few new stamps in her passport.

The reality queen got off her plane at LAX wearing no make-up,
revealing an ugly cold sore and numerous blemishes.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star had been in Kuwait and
Bahrain helping to open new outposts of the Millions of Milkshakes
chain.

She was met by many adoring fans but also by Islamic protesters in
Bahrain who made it clear she wasn't welcome in their country.

Obviously the cold sore and blemishes weren't welcome on her face
either, any more than her marriage to Kris Humphries is still welcome
in her life.

BISHOP OYEDEPO to PAY N2 BILLION. Over 3 YEAR OLD’S DEATH

3 year old Imienfan Omokaro

PM News is reporting that Winners Chapel Owner, Bishop David Oyedepo,
has been asked to pay N2 billion within 14 days for the death of
three-year-old Imienfan Omokaro who got drowned at Kingdom Heritage
Model School operated by Winners Chapel in Benin.

The amount is said to be "for the callous and senseless killing of our
client's daughter, Miss Imienfan Omokaro." The was said by Omokaro's
Counsel, Prince Peter E. Uwadiae-Igbinigie. In addition, Mr. Omokaro's
lawyers want Kingdom Heritage Model School to tender unreserved
apology in three national newspapers, warning that if the demands were
not met within 14 days,

"we have the irrevocable instructions of our client to commence legal
action against the school (Kingdom Heritage Model School) and Church
(Winners Chapel) without any further correspondence from this
Chambers."

Imienfan Omokaro, a KG I pupil of Kingdom Heritage Model School, was
said to have drowned in a drum of water in a toilet in the school on
November 1, 2012, and it is said that teachers did not inform the
mother when the incident happened.

School authorities are alleged to have kept the girl for more than an
hour, praying for her instead of seeking medical attention. She was
finally taked to Irowa Hospital in Benin, where she was confirmed
dead.

TWITTER taken to COURT over OWNERSHIP OF TWEETS

Who owns your tweets? who has the rights to sharing your tweets or
making money from them? Twitter or you?

That debate has now landed in court.

A San Francisco judge on Wednesday granted a temporary restraining
order compelling Twitter to continue providing access to its
"Firehose" – the full daily stream of some 400 million tweets – to
PeopleBrowsr Inc, a data analytics firm that sifts through Twitter and
resells that information to clients ranging from technology blogs to
the U.S. Department of Defense.

As part of a broader revenue-generating strategy, Twitter in recent
months has begun clamping down on how its data stream may be accessed,
to the dismay of many third-party developers who have built businesses
and products off of Twitter's Firehose.

PeopleBrowsr, which began contracting Firehose access in July 2010,
has continued to buy Twitter data on a month-to-month basis until this
July, when Twitter invoked a clause in the agreement that allowed for
terminating the contract without cause.

The court's decision to extend the two San Francisco-based companies'
contract has not settled the legal spat; a judge will hear
PeopleBrowsr's arguments for a preliminary injunction against Twitter
on January 8.

But the case could provide the first, in-depth look at issues
surrounding one of the Internet industry's most prominent players in
Twitter.

In a court filing, PeopleBrowsr founder John David Rich argued the
Twitter move was a "commercial disaster" for his business and
contradicted the spirit of repeated public statements that Twitter has
made regarding its data.

"Twitter has repeatedly and consistently promised that it would
maintain an 'open ecosystem' for its data," Rich said in his company's
request for a temporary injunction.

In its response, Twitter's lawyers argued: "This is Contracts 101."

Twitter said in a statement after the court decision: "We believe the
case is without merit and will vigorously defend against it."
