Chris Brown paid $1m for Lagos Concert

Chris Brown was paid at least $1m (about N156m) to travel down to
Lagos with a 15 man crew last week. The Grammy-winning singer stopped
over in South Africa, for concerts in Cape Town and Jo'burg, before
heading down to Lagos for the show. Financial details were not made
public, but found that Oando boss Wale Tinubu was a major financier,
as well as Etisalat , which provided last minute sponsorship. Brown
was to make a brief appearance at the Oando end-of-year gig, but
we're told that did not happen. It was Brown's second time in Nigeria,
the first being for a THISDAY Music Festival performance a few years
ago.

Rihanna & Chris Brown together at the Lakers Game

Chris Brown and Rihanna for the first in years, both arrived at a
public event together -- sitting side-by-side at the Lakers vs. Knicks
game at Staples Center spotted. The two arrived to the arena in the
same car earlier today, but got out of the vehicle separately. They
eventually met up inside and sat down together in their court-side
seats according to eye withness. Chris and Rihanna haven't officially
announced they're back on -- but it sure as hell seems like it ...
especially with Chris dumping his old GF Karrueche Tran over his
undying "love" for RiRi. Of course, Rihanna dumped Chris back in 2009
after he beat the crap out of her lol . Brown eventually plead guilty
to assault and is still on probation stemming from that incident.
let's watch and see from here ...

Facebook friends called Jonathan A lier over Christmas message

President Goodluck Jonathan came under criticism from his Facebook
friends on Tuesday after he posted his Christmas message on the social
networking site. The President in the message said he "personally"
instructed government officials to make conditions favourable for
Nigerians to celebrate the Yuletide. The airports, he said, for
instance, had been given a "face lift", adding that the terminals were
rehabilitated and the runways upgraded ahead of the festive season.

He wrote, and I quote "I want to seize this opportunity to wish you and
your loved ones a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance. I
feel the pains of Nigerians and that is why this Yuletide I have
personally instructed that our roads be worked on to enable you and
your loved ones to travel safely for the holidays. "Not done, we
ensured that for the first time in decades, the cross country services
(Lagos to Kano with stops in cities along the route) of the Nigerian
Railway Corporation were revived just prior to the holidays to
provide Nigerian masses with an inexpensive alternative to road and
air transportation.

"This administration also took steps to increase power generation by
remaining true to the Timelines of the Roadmap to Power Sector Reform,
which has seen history made on Friday, December 21, when Nigeria's
power generation hit an all-time high of just over 4,500 MW."
But no sooner had Jonathan posted the message on his wall than it was
greeted with a barrage of criticisms from his friends .While a few
praised and advised the President on how to tackle the problems
bedevilling the country, many others faulted his submissions.

One of his friends, Kaycee Aloy-Obi wrote, "Mr. President hold your
greetings. You and your family are having great celebration. A litre
of petrol is sold at N110-N120, against N97 which is the official
price. There is unprecedented traffic jam on Ore-Benin road due to bad
roads. "People cannot go around to visit love ones because of
insecurity. Bury your head in shame with your 4,500 MW when South
Africa is generating 50,000 MW. It is paradoxical that many Nigerians
are having dry Christmas in midst of plenty."

Yusuf Suleiman, asked the president to match his words with actions,
adding that his "advisers are not telling you the true picture of what
is happening." He said, "In Nigeria today, under your watch, the
country recorded the highest looting of our treasury, and you didn't
do anything. We also have seen how citizens were massacred, in fact,
the highest since civil war ended (and) your government is not doing
enough to stop that."

Also, Bethel Vincent, wrote, " Haba ! Mr. President, you know say lie
no good at all . Why post something we have not witnessed, yet you
refer to us as friends and fellow Nigerians.

As I am talking to you, my flat is running on generator; Benin-Auchi
road is filled with potholes and you are talking about airport, how
(many) Nigerians can afford air transport?"

A friend, Ajoba David, wrote, "Sir, congratulations! Merry Christmas
and ahappy new year. What do we expect as a New Year gift come
Tuesday, January 1st? Well, I hope it is not going to be another fuel
subsidy razzmatazz like we experienced last year.

Mr . President you are done .......truly A lier .don't say you read

Star rallies 2face, Wizkid , Wande Coal for Crossover Festival

In a bid to close the 'entertainment year' in a grand style, Star
Larger Beer is at the centre of two major events marking this festive
season in Lagos. While floating a Star Mega Village, the brand that
rocked 2012 with major shows that include Star Trek is partnering with
the Lagos State Government to host the first ever Lagos Crossover
Festival on December 31. The concert will feature some of the biggest
stars in the country - includingInnocent '2face' Idibia, Ayo 'Wizkid'
Balogun, Skales, Shaydee, Niyola, Banky W, Wande Coal and D' Prince.
Others are Tiwa Sawage, Omawunmi and Burna Boy. The organisers say the
Lagos Cross Over Festival will start on the eve of the New Year and
usher in 2013. So ambitious are the organisers that they have chosen
the Eko Atlantic City, just beside the Atlantic Ocean – the BarBeach –
as the venue.

"An added twist to the festivities is the Star Mega City . For the 12
days leading to the Lagos Crossover Festival , revelers will be
treated to fun and excitement at the Star Mega City . The series of
activities will see up-and-coming artistes, comedians and other acts
thrilling the audience. There will also be dancing competition and
raffle draws that will see lucky winners smiling home with fantastic
instant prizes," the organisers stated in a statement. At the opening
of the Star Mega City last week, the state Governor, Babatunde
Fashola, said the crossover concert was a beautiful way for
fun-seekers to end the year. Fashola said, "I must say that the Star
Mega City is a unique concept. The exciting thing about it is that it
is exploring the tourism potential of Lagos State. I want to urge
Lagosians from all walks of life to be at the Star MegaCity and then
at th e Crossover Festival ." The Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian
Breweries Plc., Mr. Yusuf Ageni, said the idea of stirring Lagosians
into celebration underscored the importance of the city.

He said, "Lagos holds a special place in the heart of Star, as well as
Nigerian Breweries. Thus there is the need for the company to
contribute something special to the state at this time. Nigerian
Breweries started its first operations in Lagos and it was also in
Lagos that Star was born. So wehave a special bond with Lagos State.
That was why we decided to get involved in the Crossover Festival."
According to Ageni, the 12 days of celebrations at the Star Mega City
would be filled with ample entertainment as the year closes. " Star
Mega City was opened just to spread the values that Star is all
about, which is fun and excitement. We will have live music, comedy,
dancing and DJs who would all be present to thrill revelers non-stop.
After the Star Mega City celebrations, we will move on to the
Crossover Festival ," Ageni stressed .
