BREAKING NEWS France Football Federation hand Nasri three-match ban
Samir Nasri has been hit with a three-match ban by the French Football Federation (FFF) for his controversial behavior during the national team 's Euro 2012 campaign.
The Manchester City attacking midfielder's teammate Jeremy Menez has been suspended for one game over his own ill-discipline in Poland and Ukraine, but Hatem Ben Arfa and Yann M'Vila have escaped with warnings over their future conduct.
Nasri, the subject of much media criticism in the lead-up to the European Championship, first sparked controversy when he made straight for the touchline after scoring in France's tournament opener against England and shouted obscenitiesat the press box.
The former Arsenal man was then involved in an angry exchange with a journalist after the quarterfinal defeat by Spain, during which Nasri challenged the reporter to a fight.
Meanwhile, Menez, who was unable to attend Friday's FFF disciplinary hearing because he is currently on a preseason tour of the United States with Paris Saint-Germain, was disciplined after being found to have insulted the referee after the 2-0 defeat by La Roja , before the shunning captain Hugo Lloris.
Ben Arfa, though, has not been punished over his dressing-roomdispute with then boss Laurent Blanc after defeat by Sweden, while M'Vila has also avoided sanction over his refusal to shakethe hand of either replacement Olivier Giroud or Blanc following his substitution in the lossto Spain.
Nigerian army presents anti-bombing devices to churches, mosques
The Nigerian army yesterday Thursday July 26th presented vehicle stoppers to some churches and mosques in the North. The device is designed to stop any vehicle from all angle at any speed.
The army explained that since most attacks of suicide bombers are being carried out with vehicles loaded with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), these vehicle stoppers disallow bombers from reaching their targets as it forcefully stops any vehicle that comes in contact with it at whatever speed.
The move was part of the army's corporate social responsibility in curtailing the spate of suicide bombing at worship centres in the north.

20 houses burnt over youth’s death in Rivers
PORT HARCOURT - NO fewer than 20 houses, were, yesterday, set ablaze
in Omudioga community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State,
when irate youths reportedly went berserk over the death of a youth,
who was simply identified as Benjamin.
Details at press time were hazy but community sources said the
rampaging youths speculated that the death of the late Benjamin might
havebeen caused by some members of the community.
Effort to stop the rampaging youths from venting their anger on the
property of innocent community folks was futile.
However, attempt to get the reaction of the state Police Public
Relations Officer, Mr Ben Ugwuegbulam, was futile, as his mobile lines
rang out.
Meantime, community sources said security men had been deployed to
quell the riotous situation. Some victims of the attack, said they had
to flee their houses when it became clear that the rampaging youths
were out of control.
Chairman of the council, Mr Allen Nma, confirmed the incident, adding
that the development had been brought under control.
"Several houses were burnt and property worth millions naira
destroyed. The Police had taken over the place to prevent any further
attacks, but the youths, responsible for these evil acts must face the
wrath of the law," he said.

said he's leaving Nollywood
temporarily to strategies.

July 22nd, the actor said: "I have
not quit Nollywood in the real
sense of the word. What I did
was to withdraw all my movies
from the market, and I mean all
the movies that are related with
Emeka Ike...and the reason is not
far fetched. I am angry with what
is going on in the industry. My
conscience would not allow me
to go on with the decay in the
industry. So, I feel that was the
best thing to do, to dissociate
myself from the problem .
