“We still have a very long journey ahead” – Wande Coal denies plan to set up record label

Sweet-voiced Wande Coal, is not leaving Mavins Records. The singer
and songwriter, has come out to dispel rumours that surfaced this
week, claiming that he was about to set up
his own record label.

"There have been no such plans, and I wish to remain in Mavin
Records," Wande Coal said in the statement, that was released on
Mavin's offical website.

"Mavin Records is my family and will always remain so. I want to thank
all my fans for continuing to support me. We still have a very long
journey ahead."

This is not the first time such stories have arisen. And at that
time, Wande Coal, released a single 'Been long you saw me',
specifically to address them. The artiste joined the defunct MoHits
Records in 2008.

HOME TICKER MOTHER NAMES HER TWINS BARACK OBAMA AND MITT ROMNEY

A Kenyan mother has named her new-born twins after US President Barack
Obama and his Republican challenger Mitt Romney, the BBC reports.

Millicent Owuor, 20, gave birth to the twins in south-west Kenya on
the day Obama was re- elected.

A short distance from the hospital, at the Obama family's ancestral
village, people were celebrating his victory.

"I named the first twin Barack and the second one Mitt," Owuor was
quoted by Reuters as saying.

Owuor posed for photographers on Wednesday at the Siaya District
Hospital with her twin boys.

She said she had named her twins after the winning and losing US
presidential candidates in order to remember the day of the vote,
Kenya's Standard newspaper reports.

The US president's father was born in Kenya and his step-grandmother,
Sarah Obama, still lives in the village of Kogelo.

The residents of Kogelo sang and danced after Obama was declared the
winner. "The reason why he has won is because God has given it to
him," said Sarah Obama, who turns 90 this year.

"Secondly, he has got the knowledge to love all people, he doesn't
have the knowledge of division, that is why he has won." Barack Obama
senior died in a road accident in
Kenya in 1982.

UCHE JOMBO TO PREMIERE 'A MOTHER'S FIGHT' DECEMBER

Star actress, Uche Jombo-Rodriguez will be premiering the movie, A
Mother's Fight in her hometown, Abiriba, on December 24.

It was directed by Ike Nnebue, and it features Uche Jombo-Rodriguez,
Bobby Obodo, Kiki Omeili, Uche Nnanna, Ejike Ibedilo, and Prince
Nwafor.

The Story
Ngozi's journey of the tradition she can't change or accept, in a
place where women are seen not heard. This is not your everyday story.

It is a story of a woman who will take on men and much more for her
girls. Ngozi's world is turned upside down with the shocking news of
her husband's sudden death but this is just the beginning as she is
faced with a bigger fight. The truth stops where tradition and custom
begin.

This is a mother's fight for that which is right and ultimately for
her daughters.

It is an Uche Jombo and You (UJAY) foundation initiative as part of
its community service via the first screening in Abiriba.

The movie is not waging war against the traditions and customs that
have existed for hundreds of years. Nevertheless it is creating a
proactive consciousness in the minds of people that a better life
tomorrow starts with a well thought out plan today.

DINO MELAYE HAS NO HONOUR OR COMMON DECENCY – NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA

Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance Dr Mrs
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is definitely one of those who are presently not
happy with former member of the House of Representatives, Mr Dino
Melaye.

However, this time around, it has nothing to do with the impregnation
of any Yoruba movie actress or maybe so.

Following a protest by demonstrators at the Federal Ministry of
Finance, calling for the resignation of Okonjo-Iweala, the office of
the minister, through her Senior Special Assistant, Paul C Nwabuikwu,
has released a press statement lambasting Dino Melaye whom, it
believed, is responsible for the protest.

The release reads in part:

"Earlier today, a disreputable former member of the House of
Representatives, Mr Dino Melaye brought a handful of demonstrators to
the Federal Ministry of Finance who conducted themselves in an unruly
manner…

We have it on good authority that Mr Melaye's group was sponsored by
some of the indicted oil barons who are currently being investigated
and prosecuted for subsidy fraud.

Their allegation to wrong subsidy payments made by the Ministry is a
mere ruse to conceal their true motives.

"The Melaye demonstration was ostensibly to call for the resignation
of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance
who is well known for fighting the fraudulent oil barons whose names
were published by the Federal Ministry of Finance for various breaches
of the subsidy regime…

Nigerians are, of course, not deceived by the antics of Mr Melaye who
has no known pedigree as a civil society activist or even a reputation
for honour or common decency."

CHELSEA BAN RACIST FAN

Gavin Kirkham was arrested on Monday after being identified on social
networking websites following the game last Wednesday, and he was held
on suspicion of a racially aggravated Section 4a Public Order Act
offense before being bailed until Nov. 29.

Chelsea were keen to stress that the 28-year-old Kirkham holds no
membership with the club.

"Chelsea Football Club has banned a 28-year-old man from Stamford
Bridge pending the conclusion of a police investigation into a
possible racially aggravated public order offense," a Chelsea
spokesman said.

"The man is not a current Chelsea FC season ticket-holder or member.
Chelsea is co-operating fully with the police as they carry out their
investigation."

The man was arrested on Monday after attending a West London police
station by appointment
