Alaafin of Oyo : Police Invites Monarch to police Station

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has described as 'desecration
of the sacred traditional institution' for the police to invite a
monarch to their station to make a statement.

Oba Adeyemi instead posited that the police should go to the palace of
the monarch to make enquiries.

He said this in reaction to the invitation of Sabiganna of Iganna, Oba
Soliu Oyemonla Azeez, by the police on the invasion of the farmlands
of his subjects by some Fulani herdsmen while speaking at the 3rd year
coronation anniversary of Sabiganna of Iganna, regarding the action as
ridiculous and insulting to the traditional institution of obaship.

According to Oba Adeyemi, "A situation where traditional rulers were
being called upon to come to police station to make statements is
ridiculous."

He said a police man should go to the Oba's palace to make enquiries
from him and not the other way round. "This kind of nonsense must
stop", he warned.

The traditional ruler also advised the Oyo State Government to
encourage the establishment of a bank for the people of Iganna in the
Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oke Ogun in Oyo State.

He stated that it was risky for the people living in the area to
travel about 25 kilometres to another town before they could deposit
or withdraw money.

Alaafin said the situation was a major challenge to the Deputy
Governor, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, a retired bank official.

While speaking, Chief Adeyemo stressed further that the call for the
establishment of the bank was necessary to save the residents from
armed robbery attacks.

He added that absence of a single bank in the whole of Iganna was an
indication that the town was lagging behind in the area of social and
infrastructural development.

Oba Adeyemi also tasked the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN
administration to relocate the local government headquarters from
Iwere-Ile back to Iganna where it was initially located.

Hillary Clinton to Step Down as Secretary of State Probably 'Days' After Inauguration

Hillary Clinton was pictured in Washington DC on Thursday after a
week out of the spotlight she did not answer questions on whether she
would run for president after she steps down following Obama's
inauguration in January.

She's back: Hillary Clinton was pictured in Washington DC on Thursday
after a week out of the spotlight Last week, she embarked on a tour of
the Balkans, meeting officials in Serbia, Albania, Croatia and Kosovo
- far away from the electoral fray as Barack Obama faced off with Mitt
Romney in a successful attempt to win four more years as President.

Rivals? Clinton could have been distancing herself from Obama to
prepare the ground for a 2016 run

The couple apparently voted together near their home in Chappaqua, New
York on Tuesday evening, but their trip to the polls was not
publicised or photographed.

Hillary finally resurfaced on Thursday, when she presided over a
ceremony to grant U.S, citizenship to children born abroad and adopted
by American parents.

She has repeatedly claimed that she will not run for President again
after her failed bid in 2008, and has added that she will not seek any
public office after leaving State.

However, many pundits are sceptical of her protestations, and the main
article this morning on Politico, a news website popular with
insiders, anointed her the frontrunner for the
Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.

Clinton's decision to stay out of the limelight could, therefore, have
been a hedging strategy designed to distance her from Obama in the
event that he lost.

Strangely, given her pivotal role in the Obama administration, Hillary
seems to have ended up being less important to the President than Bill
is.

The 42nd President, rather than his wife, was the first person Obama
phoned after Romney conceded defeat.

Now that Obama has been re-elected, some expect Mrs Clinton to grow
closer to him in an attempt to portray herself as part of a winning
team - although she may calculate that by 2016, Americans will be so
tired of him that she will have to present herself as the face of
change if she is to make it to the White House.

Her movements over the next weeks, months and years will doubtless be
carefully monitored to work out whether or not she is indeed
manoeuvring for a 2016 power grab.

Any ardent follower of Tonto Dike on the social network knows the
controversial actress replaces her 'S's with 'Z's.

Rihanna, Seth Rogen and Snoop Dogg Tweet Support of Colorado's Marijuana Legalization

Rocky Mountain High indeed. In the wake of Colorado voters legalizing
the recreational use of marijuana on Election Day, several famous
folks have taken to Twitter to express their joy over the measure
getting passed.

"@9NEWS: Colorado becomes the first state in the country to legalize
marijuana. #Amendment64" #catchup," tweeted Rihanna.

And not surprising, Snoop Dogg and Seth Rogen, two guys whose names
are practically synonymous with the stuff, also couldn't contain their
excitement. "Shout out to Colorado," the rapper tweeted, while Rogen
actually took it once step further and wrote,

"I'm moving to Colorado." Of course, these three will be happy to know
that Colorado isn't the only place they can light up.

The state of Washington saw a similar measure get approved on Tuesday
as well. Although we're guessing they're probably already aware of
that by now.
