Usher Loses Popular Vote: Election Officials Under Fire for Letting Singer Cut in Line at Polling Station

Usher certainly rocked the vote--and not in a good way. The R&B
crooner has come under scrutiny for reportedly cutting ahead in line
while voting in an Atlanta suburb, and election bigwigs are asking
polling-site officials for an explanation.

Per local TV station WSBTV, the singer voted Tuesday at a community
center in Roswell. But when he arrived, election officials reportedly
zipped him through a back door of the precinct and straight to the
front of the line, bypassing others who'd been waiting ahead of him.

Usher awarded primary custody of kids The move infuriated other
voters, who vented their frustration to local officials and news
outlets.

The singer also reportedly whipped out his camera phone and shot
photos of the polling station. After being put on the defensive,
election officials said in a statement that that site's poll manager
"was directed to ensure that [Usher's] presence would not become a
distraction by taking necessary measures to move [him] through the
process as expeditiously as possible.

At no point was this decision made for preferential treatment, but to
minimize and avoid a distraction at the poll." Officials also said
that the singer's camp informed the precinct beforehand that the star
would be arriving, and that they had given him permission to shoot the
photos.

Still, looks like someone didn't win the popular vote here.

BLACK FAZE- I have Been To HELL And Am Back

Former member of the disbanded boy group, Plantashun Boiz Black Faze,
real name Ahmedu Obiabo, is attempting to pick up the pieces of his
once thriving music career, having gone underground for so long.

A conversation with the soft-spoken singer and song writer, who
classifies his style of music as universal flavour, gives a peep into
the lonely world of a once celebrated soul struggling to get his voice
out in the now competitive Nigerian music terrain.

He is careful with his words and intermittently begs not to be quoted
out of context. But this does not come as a surprise, as the singer,
who lays claim to having written some of the finest hits of the
Platashun Boiz, has been a victim of bad press.

As expected, there have been rumours milling around him. For instance,
it was said not long ago that he was accused of defrauding some show
promoters of a huge amount of money. Also, he is said to have been
dumped by his wife of five years – as a result of bankruptcy. The
surprising thing, however, is that he takes these allegations in good
faith though he denies them substantially.

Black Face says, "I am not broke. You must understand that people will
say what they want, but what they don't know they don't know. I was
once married but have now been separated from my wife for some years
now. Music is taking all my time and I'm not in any relationship now.
There is no chance of reconciliation as I am married to my music for
now. My kids are with her."

Attempting to ask any question about his relationship with his former
band mates, 2face Idibia and Faze, appears to be a case of opening up
old wounds, considering the fact that he is the least
popular/successful of the trio.

On his relationship with both artistes, he says, "I and 2Face are
good. If you ask them they will tell you the same thing because there
is really nothing to talk about. My fans have been waiting on my new
album for so long. So that is paramount now. I really don't miss
Plantashun Boiz days because better days are ahead.

I have learnt that life is a sport: sometimes you lose and sometimes
you win. But when you lose you can always practise and come back
better. More so, believing in yourself is more important than people
believing in you. "

Although Faze confirmed that plans were in the works towards producing
a Plantashun Boiz comeback album before the year runs out in a TV
interview in July, Black Faze debunks the statement with the wave of a
hand.

"That project isn't on, my dear! 2face just put out his album, Faze
also. I am working on my own album titled Defender. So, I'm busy till
that is achieved. Other things can wait for now. I have been working
on my album for like two years now.

I basically went to hell and back to get some experience. I say so
because I have had a lot of experiences: difficult times and when no
one believes in you, you have to go against all odds to achieve your
goals.

I have learnt a lot even as a pioneer of this game and you know what?
I'm back! Singers stay away for years to write some real music for
fans. Music is of the spirit, so you just can't force it," he
stresses.

As he puts finishing touches to the release of his album, Black Faze
adds that he has been dealt terrible blows in the past by phoney
marketers and pirates and is not in a hurry to fall for their antics
again.

"I am still uncertain about the release date for now, because I am
still trying to have the distribution figured out as these marketers
or distributors do not want to pay artistes for their works anymore.

If it is about royalties, they won't want to pay what is due to the
artiste and they don't pay outright anymore. So, I am thinking it is
best to give it out to the masses for free or hold on till a
distribution agreement is met or arranged by my label, Skyhigh Music
Incorporated."

On the dearth of boy bands in Nigeria, he says, "It is not easy to
form a boy's band and have it survive. My strong-willed nature kept
Plantashun Boiz for as long as it lasted. I always insisted that work
gets done, on rehearsals and a lot of other things.

I used to challenge every member of the group to be at their best at
all times."

Photos : Happy tears, President Obama began crying while thanking his campaign staffers in Chicago

President Barack Obama got so emotional while thanking his campaign
staffers in their Chicago headquarters that he began crying.

The normally stoic Democrat had to repeatedly wipe away tears during
the five-and-a-half minute talk that was caught on video and posted to
YouTube.

Emotional: The talk showed the tender side of the typically-stoic
President At one point, his baritone voice went another octave deeper
as he got choked up while talking about the parallels between his own
story and that of his young campaign operatives.

TOO SAD! Female Student of UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN drinks BLEACH After BOYFRIEND Jilted Her

100 Level female student of University of Ibadan drank a poisonous
substance called Hypo Bleach after her boyfriend jilted her. The
student was reported to have drank the bleach after her boyfriend, a
student of the same University, ended the relationship between them.

Here is how Tribune is reporting it:

Dumped by her boyfriend, a student of the University of Ibadan (UI),
drank bleach in anger.

The 100- Level student in the Faculty of Arts was said to have taken
the solution, a product called Hypo, on Sunday when her lover, a
student of the same university, told her it was over between them.

Students of the university are currently writing their second semester
examination which began about two weeks ago and will be concluded by
the end of this month.

Nigerian Tribune gathered from campus source that the lady was rushed
to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, to save her from
dying.

It was learnt further that the news of a serious damage to her kidney
had spread on the campus.

A singing sensation on campus was said to have quickly waxed a hip hop
lyric entitled "Hypo Love" to teach other students, especially ladies,
the morals of the incident.

A source within the university said the lady is now fit and back in
school after the poison was flushed out of her system at the
institution's Jaja Clinic.

However, he could not confirm why the lady decided to take the bleach
as investigation into the matter was still ongoing as of press time.

We are thankful that she didn't die as a result of her action and we
hope this serves as a lesson to other young ladies not to make
decisions which might have deadly consequences in such situations.

2FACE'S Wife, ANNIE MACAULAY, Open's Boutique in Lagos

The wife of 'African Queen' crooner, 2Face Idibia, Annie Macaulay, has
opened a boutique in Lagos. The mother of one, Isabella, according to
information gathered by our source, was recently opened for business
officially.

The store is named '4Eva Young' and it is located at the popular Ikota
Shopping Complex, Lekki, Lagos. Annie has now joined one of the few
Nollywood actresses that have taken to fashion stores to earn extra
money away from their known profession, acting.

In May 2012, Annie and 2Face got married in a secret wedding that only
had few family members in attendance.

WIZKID- "DAVIDO Is Not A Threat To Me"

A few years ago when rave of the moment, Wizkid dropped out of Lead
City University in his second year, not a few thought he made the
wrong decision.

Although he chose to follow the music path, the artiste, whose real
name is Ayo Balogun, does not underestimate the importance of
education.

''I don't regret stopping school for a bit because it did give me all
the time to push and work on my music. I'm definitely going back to
school. Education is very necessary and I hold it in high esteem.''

Just three years down the line, the 22-year-old-singer who fathered
his first child with a fan last year, constantly rakes millions of
bucks from gigs, world tours and album sales. Sounding every bit
prophetical, Wizkid confesses that he foresaw he was going to be a
successful singer.

"Yes I had hoped and dreamt for all this, but I didn't expect it would
happen this fast. I am 22 and I owe all my achievements to God. Yes I
am oftentimes overwhelmed by all I have achieved at my age and I stay
grateful because it keeps me going.''

When he launched his debut album in front of a capacity-filled hall at
the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, in August last year the young singer,
fondly called Wizzy, made history by becoming the youngest Nigerian
artiste to attract such a crowd to an album launch. That moment he
says, remains a career moment.

"I am always humbled and excited to perform with artistes I grew up
listening to.I am constantly overwhelmed.

"Performing at the HMV Apollo was an amazing experience for me.
Winning a MOBO, BET, Channel O award and the MTV Europe nomination
have definitely been highpoints.''

Up until the emergence of a rival singer, Davido, Wizkid held sway in
his class. Now facing competition from Omo Baba Olowo, he says he
never ever gets threatened.

"All the stories of beef and quarell between both of us are mere
rumours. Davido is my friend and I respect him.I don't consider him a
threat. We both make good music that people love.''

The female fans can no doubt have enough of the young singer who says
he knows where to draw the line.

Amidst laughter, he says, "I love all my fans, male and female. I try
to show my appreciation anyway I can.

"I am thankful for where I am today and I'm excited about what's
coming next for me. I respect and look up to my bros, Banky W, D'Banj
and 2face."

Wizkid no doubt, has a bright future and will not be quitting music
anytime soon.

"Music is my life, I can't stop making music but if I wasn't, maybe
I'd be a football player.''

On how he would love to be remembered, he keeps it simple. "As a man
who never gave up on his dreams and succeeded at everything he worked
hard to accomplish."
