Pope Benedict XVI Resigns February 28

 A Vatican spokesman has disclosed that Pope Benedict XVI will on February 28, 2013 resign as the head of the Catholic Church. Pope Benedict was elected in 2005 after the demise of Pope John Paul II.The spokesman did not state any reason for the Pope's sudden and shock resignation.

The Super Eagles under the tutelage of Coach Stephen Keshi have ended a 19-year Africa Cup of Nations title drought with a 1-0 final victory over Burkina Faso at Soccer City, Johannesburg.

Aliko Dangote has splashed the sum of N130 million on the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles for reaching the final of the ongoing 29th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa.

The Eagles reached the final of AFCON 2013 by thrashing the Malian national team 4-1 in the semi-final match on Wednesday.A statement from Dangote Group explained that the gesture is part of Dangote Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to promote and encourage sport development in Nigeria.
