‘Don’t believe everything you read’ – Davido reacts to assault allegations?

David 'Davido' Adeleke has seemingly responded to the assault allegations recently leveled against him.

Over the weekend, Punch Newspapers reported that the pop star had assaulted a taxi driver, Femi Ajibola, who was reported to have taken the case to the Police.

'Wow! Don't believe everything u read people. SMH. #andthatisall', Davido declared on his Twitter page.

But a friend close to the HKN camp says Davido is lying, and is very worried about how the news has spread. 'The Police were going to invade his album concert and arrest him but some people begged them. David is scared right now, they are all staying low key. Asa has switched off his phone because the pressure is too much. Money is not everything', a source who would rather remain anonymous tells YINKUZBLOG

Davido's publicist, Valerie Obaze in her response to PUNCH, denied Davido's involvement in the incident, 'Davido has no knowledge of any incident involving the assault of a taxi driver or the illegal seizure of his car. He does not condone violence of any sort and will not be commenting on this untrue allegation', she told PUNCH via email. She did not respond to enquiries made by Nigerian Entertainment Today via email

Davido's manager Asa Asika could also not be reached for comments as his phones are still switched off
