RONALDO: I AM NOT SORRY FOR WHAT I SAID !!

Cristiano Ronaldo hailed an important victory for Real Madrid after
his goal helped Jose Mourinho's side to come from behind and see off
Manchester City 3-2 at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.

Ronaldo, 27, hit a last-minute winner in his first appearance at the
Bernabeu since his"non-celebration" of goals during the 3-0 La Liga
win over Granada earlier this month, after which he had spoken of his
professional "sadness".

Speaking to reporters after the victory over the Premier League
champions, Ronaldo said he was happy to have scored the winner, for
himself, his team-mates and Real's fans.

"The team needed to win," he said. "It was important to score, if not
me then someone else. It was important and nice. For this I am happy,
for the team and the fans who believed in us from the first minute.

"We showed what Real Madrid is, we ran from the first to the last
minute and we deserved to win."

Ronaldo did not take back his earlier comments however, suggesting
that the reasons for his professional unhappiness – whatever they are
– had yet to be resolved.

"Everybody has the right to be sad," he said. "Have you never been
unhappy? I also have the right to feel that way, it is normal.

"Tonight it is important that people are happy, the fans and not only
the team. The team won, we are good, we began the Champions League
well, nothing else is important. [But] I am not sorry for what I
said."

NOLLYWOOD : FRIENDS OF NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS, NGOZI NWOSU RALLY TO RAISE FUNDS FOR HER TREATMENT ABROAD

Since the story went viral last week, some of her friends have tried
to raise funds in order for her to run the necessary medical tests.
Reports say that she has a kidney related problem but according to a
source, the actress is suffering from 'kidney leakage.'

A source revealed that a sum of 50,000 Naira was given to Ngozi last
week to run the test in the hospital so as to know the exact kidney
that is affected.

Right now, her friends are contemplating flying her to India for a
kidney transplant. Her friends have started asking for donations to
help save the Imo State-born actress. The account details have not yet
been confirmed and soon as it is, we will keep you posted.

MARIAH CAREY AND NICKI CALLS A TRUCE AFTER AMERICAN IDOLS FEUD

American Idols, the world greeted it with unanimous acceptance and
great expectation, but early into the show the duo didn't want to see
eye to eye.

Nicki Minaj reportedly arrived 45 minutes late, and Mariah Carey
criticized her. Nicki wouldn't take any of that and she fired right
back.

They've reportedly buried the hatchet on monday as they believe a feud
between the judges wouldn't be good for the show. They were seen
walking hand-in-hand down the hall smiling. As much as their truce
should be a good thing, TMZ seems to think otherwise. Is a feud
between judges good for any show? Wouldn't they need to agree on some
decisions?

MAN BLINDS HIS WIFE BY STABBING HER IN THE EYE AND UPON ARREST, BLAMES IT ON ‘SATAN’

Deann Igho married Sylvester barely a year ago and hoped to have a
good marriage. Their affairs had started when she was a student at the
University of Port Harcourt. Their love affair blossomed, and they
agreed to get married.

However, Deann's parents, siblings and relatives objected to her
marrying Sylvester. Along the line, she got pregnant for Sylvester and
her family didn't have any choice but to grant her wish. She moved in
to live with Sylvester. Last year, she gave birth to a baby boy. Deann
is Sylvester's third wife.
First, the man married about five years ago, and the marriage crashed
after producing a child. He married again, but his second wife did not
give him a child before they parted ways. He then married Deann.

Deann Igho (L) Immediately After She Was Allegedly Stabbed By Her
Husband & In Hospital (R) After Treatment

The fight

Sylvester returned home after being away for two weeks. A quarrel had
ensued between him and the wife in the evening. To Deann, the matter
was settled, but her husband did not want to let go. At night,
Sylvester woke his wife from sleep and demanded that they talked. His
wife told him that whatever discussion there was had to wait till the
morning, to avoid waking the baby, who had cough and catarrh. In a fit
of anger, Sylvester stabbed her twice in the eye, locked the door and
escaped.

Since their home on Ada George Road, a developing part of Port
Harcourt, is isolated, neighbours could not hear Deann's cries.
Writhing in pains and on the verge of bleeding to death, she managed
to call her siblings in Lagos, on phone. She also called her parents
and Sylvester's parents, who also live in Lagos. She also, in pains,
captured her bleeding face with her Blackberry phone camera and sent
them to those she called.
Her family contacted their friends in Port Harcourt, Mr & Mrs. Castro,
who broke the door and took her out. She was then taken to the
University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) for medical
attention.

Nero Igho, Deann's brother, who was in Lagos when he got the distress
call, says he called Sylvester several times, but the latter refused
to pick his call.

After initial treatment, Nero took his sister to police area command,
where the matter was reported. She was, thereafter, transferred to
Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where a team of three
doctors confirmed that the eye was dead, after surgery. On his
experience, Deann said: "Sylvester used a knife to remove one of my
eyes and locked the door against me so that I will bleed to death."

How Sylvester was arrested

After the attack, Sylvester moved over to Lagos and was lodging in a
hotel. While in Lagos, he told those who called him on phone that he
was in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The bubble burst when someone spotted
him and told Deann's family. Nero traced him to the hotel and fooled
him into believing that there was no problem, as they saw the matter
as one of trying times. He followed them home, where the police picked
him up. The police said he would be transferred to Port Harcourt,
where the crime was committed.

Sylvester's plot to flee Nigeria
It was learnt that Sylvester actually planned to flee Nigeria, which
was why he came to Lagos. He had made arrangements for an
International passport, which he was waiting for before he was nabbed.
While cooling off his heels at the Lagos state Police Command cell,
Sylvester blamed Satan for his action. He denied stabbing his wife.
According to him, the ceiling fan cut his wife's eye.

MOJOR TIPS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

There's only one thing you need to do to lose weight, and that's burn
more calories than you eat every day. But because this old-school rule
can be confusing to follow on its own, we turned to top weight-loss
experts for their other set-in-stone advice.

Read on for the top 10 must-follow rules guaranteed to add up to
long-term weight loss.

Eat Protein At Every Meal

A quarter of your calories should come from lean proteins, such as
eggs, lean meats, fish and low-fat dairy. Why? Protein helps you feel
fuller longer, recharges your muscles after intense workouts, and
according to recent research, sheds more fat than muscle.

Eat A Filling Breakfast

It really is the most important meal of the day: More than 10,000
successful dieters who have lost more than 30 pounds and kept it off
for more than a year say that eating breakfast is a key part of their
plan. The best breakfast is one that contains both protein and fiber
to boost your energy levels and help you stay satiated throughout the
day.

Downsize Your Serving Dishes

Sticking with weight loss is often mind over matter which is why
smaller plates, bowls and utensils can be the key to cutting calories.
When you're eating from a salad plate (about 7 or 8 inches) rather
than a dinner plate (10 to 14 inches), you think you're still eating a
large portion. The proof: Researchers found that people given larger
bowls at breakfast ate 16 percent more cereal than those given smaller
bowls, yet they estimated that they were eating less.

Eat More Fruits And Vegetables

Time and time again, research has shown that eating more vegetables is
essential for long-term weight loss, which is why you should aim for
five to nine servings a day. Vegetables fill you up with the fiber,
vitamins, minerals and other nutrients important for overall good
health in a low-calorie, high volume package. Fruits are also bursting
with fiber and antioxidants and can be a good way to treat your sweet
tooth. One key to applying this weight-loss rule is to substitute
fruits and veggies for higher-calorie foods — for instance, layer
lettuce, tomato, and cucumber rather than extra meat or cheese on your
sandwich.

Stay Hydrated

So often, when you think you're hungry, you're actually thirsty. So
make it a weight-loss lifestyle rule: Stay hydrated. Drink a glass of
water before every meal. That way you know you're not thirsty when
you're eating. And yes, water is still your best beverage bet. A
recent study found that people had modest weight loss simply by
replacing high-calorie beverages with water and drinks with zero or
very few calories .

Sleep Well

If you want to lose weight, you need to get at least seven hours of
shut-eye every night. When you lack sleep, your body produces more
ghrelin, a hormone that triggers hunger and causes you to retain fat.
Also, you tend to make wrong choices when you're exhausted.
Sleep-deprived people might actually eat an extra 500 calories a day
compared to their well-rested peers, a small study found. Plus,
researchers found that dieters who slept well lost more fat than
non-fat body mass.

Avoid Artificial Sweeteners

This may seem surprising considering all those yellow, pink, and blue
packets we use, but artificial sweeteners do little for weight loss
and could actually cause you to pile on the pounds. The problem is
that "they're so intensely sweet that they seem to exacerbate a
person's addiction for sweets." Researchers found that rats given food
sweetened with artificial sweeteners ate more calories than rats given
food sweetened with normal sugar. So skip the diet sodas and the
artificially sweetened cakes, cookies and other treats.

Eat More Often

Old thinking: When trying to lose weight, don't eat between meals. New
thinking: Don't go more than five hours without eating. If you let
yourself get too hungry, it's harder to make the best food choices.
When you're starved, you're more likely to grab fast food. Eating
smaller meals more often also keeps your blood sugar steady and can
therefore lower your cravings, whereas skipping meals makes it much
harder to control your appetite, researchers found.

Keep Moving All Day

Make time for exercise. Exercise will help you reach your goal faster
and safer. But it's the combo of diet and exercise that works best.
Researchers found that postmenopausal women who dieted and did 45
minutes of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic exercise five days each week
lost more weight more quickly than those who did just one or the
other, shedding an average of nearly 11 percent of their body weight.
The women who dieted shed just 8.5 percent and the women who exercised
only, 2.4 percent. Exercise is an important part of a weight-loss
lifestyle, White says, helping you to maintain any weight loss, too.

Reduce Stress

A study found that people with the lowest stress levels were the most
likely to lose at least 10 pounds. Stress also causes the body to
release more cortisol, the hormone responsible for storing body fat.
Cortisol has also been shown to increase cravings for fatty foods. Eat
in beautiful surroundings. There are studies that show if you have
beautiful surroundings your brain becomes more satiated and you don't
want to eat as much.

PHOTO : AMBER ROSE DISPLAYS HER BABY BUMP

Wiz Khalifa's own lady has decided to tell the world she can still
look hot even with her baby shaped full structure which for many
mothers it is expected to take some new shapes that could advertise
anything except sexiness. Amber Rose has never given up on her public
displays, and she obviously will not allow her increasing pound to
dictate what should be done.

NIGERIAN ACTOR SENTENCED TO 3 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR GAY SEX

A 28-year old actor was on Monday sentenced to three-month
imprisonment by a Karu Senior Magistrates' Court, Abuja, for having
sexual intercourse with another man through the anus.

The convict, who resides at Gidan Mangoro, had pleaded guilty to
having engaged in homosexual acts.

"I am guilty of the charge against me. I  was under the influence of
alcohol and I want the court to temper justice with mercy'', he said.

The police prosecutor, Mohammed Umar, had told the court that the
convict committed the offence in August when the complainant was
sleeping in his bed.

Homosexual acts, the prosecutor said, was contrary to Section 284 of
the Penal Code.

The prosecutor said since Mr. Chukwuemeka had pleaded guilty to the
crime he initially denied, the court should try him summarily.

The Senior Magistrate, Nafisatu Buba, sentenced him to three-month
imprisonment without an option of fine.

"This would serve as warning to other youths who hide under the
influence of alcohol to commit crimes,'' she said.

When he was first arraigned in early September, Mr. Chukwuemeka
pleaded not guilty, saying, "I came back drunk from the night club and
thought I was sleeping on the same bed with my girl-friend and I
started romancing her."

At that hearing, Mrs Buba, had ruled that alcohol should not be seen
as an excuse for committing the offence, but then granted the accused
bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, with one of
the sureties being a civil servant on Grade Level 09.

However, when the case was heard Monday, the actor suddenly pleaded
guilty, and Mrs Buba summarily tried him, sentencing him to
three-month imprisonment. Homosexuality and lesbianism are seriously
frowned at in Nigeria.

In November, the Nigerian Senate passed a strict law banning same-sex
marriage and public display of affection by gays in Nigeria.

The bill – Same Sex Marriage (prohibition) bill 2011 – prescribes
14-year jail terms for convicted gays in Nigeria.

"Persons who entered into a same sex marriage contract or civil union
commits an offence and are each liable on conviction to a term of 14
years imprisonment," the new law said.

It added, "Any person, who registers, operates or participates in gay
clubs, societies and organization, or directly or indirectly makes
public show of same-sex amorous relationships in Nigeria commits an
offence and shall be liable on conviction to a term of 10-year
imprisonment."
