REVEALED: WHY FEMI KUTI SHUNNED THE HEADIES

Those who attended The Headies 2012 awards show on Saturday October
20, were surprised when the show ended without musician Femi Kuti
gracing the stage.

It had been highly publicized that the respected Afrobeat
singer-saxophonist was to perform at the prestigious awards show -his
first ever. He was also to be inducted into the well respected 'Hall
of Fame'.

But Femi never showed up, rather he stayed behind at the New Afrika
Shrine where the recently concluded Felabration 2012 was going onNET
placed a call to Yeni Kuti, Femi's elder sister who didn't divulge
much information other than there was a 'slight misunderstanding'.

But an inside source close to the Kuti family tells us it was more
than a misunderstanding, allegedly having to do with the failure of
the awards organizers and Kuti's managers to reconcile last minute
differences.

'They were meant to pay Shoki shoki (Femi) some balance for logistics
but as at Saturday evening we hadn't received the money, so he stayed
back at the Shrine for Felabration', a reliable source told us in
anonymity. We could not immediately confirm this.

The Headies does not pay musicians for performances, and this is the
first time a Hall of Fame inductee will stay away from the glamorous
event.

No word yet from the organizers about why Femi was absent.

DON’T EXECUTE THOSE PRISONERS, EU APPEALS TO OSHIOMOLE

The European Union (EU) has appealed to Governor of Edo State, Adams
Oshiomhole to shelve his plan to execute two prison inmates in his
state.

In a statement issued yesterday by the Local EU in Nigeria on imminent
executions in Edo State, the union asked Oshiomhole to halt the
execution of these two inmates pending the determination of appeals
they filed against the trial court judgement.

"The EU Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria is deeply
concerned about the information it has received concerning the
reported imminent execution of two persons in Edo State.

"The EU Delegation calls on the Nigerian authorities and, in this
case, the Governor of Edo State, to allow all legal appeals to be
heard and to halt the execution of these two inmates. The EU
Delegation urges the Nigerian authorities to respect the existing de
facto moratorium on executions, in place since 2006."

It considers that such execution, if carried out, would represent a
serious setback in Nigeria's reputation and records in the field of
human rights.

The European Union Delegation to Nigeria said that they were conveying
the message in agreement with the EU Heads of Mission in Nigeria. The
Embassy of Norway associates itself with this statement.

Zidane statue causes controversy

Officials in Paris want to see the newly erected statue of Zinedine
Zidane's infamous headbutt on Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup
final taken down.

The five-meter tall bronze figure stands outside the Pompidou Arts
Centre in Paris and is known to have angered French football
bureaucrats who feel that it sends out an unprofessional image of
their legendary former captain.

In an open letter to Zidane, administrators wrote: "By choosing this
provocative image, the artist has deliberately opted to ignore all
your talents and all the positive emotions that you were able to share
with the people of our country."

It stands "in contrary to sporting ethics and values carried and
transmitted by the hundreds of thousands of educators who invest all
over our country for young practitioner."

Instead, they believe a sculpture representing Zidane's two headed
goals against Brazil in the 1998 World Cup triumph would be more
appropriate.

Whether Zizou himself will support the removal. of the efigy remains
to be seen, but president of the Pompidou Arts Centre, Alain Seban, is
"shocked" by the appeals.

"This is more or less a call for censorship," he said.
Zidane claimed to have been racially provoked by the Italian defender
in the build-up up to his headbutt though was duly fined and made to
do community service for FIFA.

PARENTS IN SHOCK AS ‘DEAD’ SON SITS UP, ASKS FOR WATER AT OWN FUNERAL, DIES AGAIN

Strange news emanating from the South American country of Brazil these
days just leaves one wondering – Is Brazil the weird capital of the
world? Not really, but read this:

Kelvin Santos was being treated for pneumonia at a local hospital in
Brazil when he stopped breathing. Doctors declared the boy dead and
sent his body home with his parents, so they could hold services.
Kelvin's body was put in an open coffin in the middle of the family
home.

The next day, Kelvin reportedly sat up and asked, "Daddy, can I have
some water?" which amazed all those in the home. This was only one
hour before the funeral was to take place.

"Everybody started to scream," his father, Antonio Santos said. "We
couldn't believe our eyes. Then we thought a miracle had taken place
and our boy had come back to life."

Unfortunately, the family's "miracle" did not last very long, Santos explained.

"Kelvin just laid back down, the way he was. We couldn't wake him. He
was dead again," he said.

Antonio immediately took his boy back to the hospital where he was
again pronounced dead.

"They assured me that he really was dead and gave me no explanation
for what we had just seen and heard," said the father.

Kelvin's body was taken back to the home and, after waiting for some
time to see if he would awake, he was laid to rest. Antonio believes
that Kelvin could have been saved had the hospital done more when he
brought the boy back.

"Fifteen minutes after rushing him away for resuscitation, they came
and told me he was dead and handed me his body. Perhaps they didn't
examine him properly. Dead people don't just wake up and talk. I'm
determined to find out the truth," said Santos.

Now, Kelvin's parents are suing the hospital for declaring him dead in
the first place claiming that he could have been saved if not for
medical malpractice.

Have your say !! What do you think ?

PHOTOS: THE 70 YEARS OLD TWIN PROSTITUTES WHO HAVE SLEPT WITH OVER 300,000 MEN IN 50 YEARS

Wow! Is all I can say. Just two women alone have slept with such a
huge number of random persons. On the average, that means they have
both slept with 20 men/day over the last 50 years! Isn't that a
record? That is the story of Identical twins Louise and Martine
Fokkens, who shot to fame earlier this year as stars of a documentary
charting their 50 year careers as prostitutes in Amsterdam.

Identical Twins Louise & Martine Fokkens Have Worked As Prostitutes In
Amsterdam For Fifty Years

Now the 70-year-old Dutch sisters are celebrating their retirement
with a tell-all book about their lives and the industry, and today
they admitted to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip
Schofield that they have entertained 355,000 men between them.

Louise revealed that her bad arthritis meant that she had retired from
prostitution two years ago causing the telly hosts to exclaim: 'No
wonder you have arthritis. You must have very flexible hips!'

The Fokken Twins Started Working As Prostitutes In The 1960s

Louise, who became a prostitute aged twenty after a brief spell making
lampshades explained how she got in to the business:

'We didn't have enough money. 'My husband's friends said it was the
best way to make money so we decided to find out. I was 20/21 the
first time. At first it was a problem for our mother and father but
later we all lived normally with it.'

Martine, a mother-of-three who still works as a prostitute two to
three times a week said:

'My family told me about my sister while I was in the hospital having
my first baby. I didn't believe it but we talked about it and I loved
her, that's life.'

Martine then started working at the brothel as a cleaner but two years
later decided to join her sister as a prostitute after so many clients
mistook her for her identical twin.

Louise, who has four children and nine grandchildren said: 'I helped
her with the first client: told her what she had to do, what she
shouldn't do.'

Unsurprisingly the women are familiar faces around the red light
district, and over their five decades working in the sex industry
freed themselves from the control of their pimps, ran their own
brothel, and set up the first informal trade union for prostitutes.

But out of curiosity, who patronizes a 70 years old prostitute?
Certainly not in this climes! And you can imagine, it is the other
twin who got introduced to the business that is still 'enjoying' it –
call it late bl(gr)ooming! If it were you , would you be proud of
yourself ?

Senior Military Officer Executed In North Korea For Drinking Alcohol During 100-Day Mourning Period For Late Ruler

A senior North Korean military officer has been executed for showing
gross disrespect to late Dear Leader' Kim Jong-il by drinking alcohol
during the 100-day mourning period.

Kim Chol, the secretive State's vice minister of the Army, was dragged
before a firing squad and gunned down in January – a month after Kim
died of an apparent heart attack.

The North Korean regime issued strict instructions to the 25 million
population to express their sorrow at their leader's passing by
abstaining from pleasurable activities – which
included drinking alcohol or having sex.

As an initial crack down on pleasure, anyone found to be not showing
extreme distress in the hours after the dictator's death were dealt
with severely by being sent to six months in labour camps, according
to reports leaking from the Stalinist nation.

It was claimed that anyone who failed to turn up at organised mourning
events within two days of the burial service were sent to a labour
camp and punishment was also meted out to anyone who even made a
mobile phone call out of the country.

But when the mourning period to mark Kim's burial was over and the
strict 'no pleasure' 100 days followed, anyone who raised a glass of
alcohol was in danger of receiving a death sentence.

According to South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper, Kim Chol was one of
those who failed to resist the chance of having a drink.

Morgan Freeman Jokes About Death Rumors

Morgan Freeman gets a good laugh out of rumors of his own demise. The
Oscar winner took to his Facebook page on Tuesday to make light of
those pretty disgusting death hoaxes that have popped up with
increasing frequency on social media and targeted him over the years,
noting that if he is standing in front of the Pearly Gates, it looks
an awful lot like present-day Earth.

"Like Mark Twain, I keep reading that I have died," wrote the
75-year-old Freeman. "I hope those stories are not true...but if they
are, I'm happy to report that my afterlife seems identical to my life
when I was alive."

The acting legend, who played God, by the way, in Bruce Almighty and
Evan Almighty, noted that he's too booked up with work to think about
meeting his Maker.

"I did go to Las Vegas to begin work on the film Last Vegas," he
added. "That is anything but a death sentence." That comedy sounds
pretty lively indeed.

It stars Freeman, Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro and Kevin Kline and
follows four sixty something best friends who throw a bachelor party
in Sin City for the last one of them to get hitched. It hits theaters
in December 2013, and as far as the thesp's concerned, he has every
intention of being at the premiere.
