The winner of the maiden edition of Hausa Reality Show which commences
in January 2013, will go home with N2.5 million. Am very sure many

Hajia Habiba Ismai'l, the Executive Producer, Sarewa Africa and Habiba
Gazelle Foundation, announced this at a news conference in Abuja on
Wednesday, according to report culled from vanguard.


She said the show is aimed at encouraging the growth of Hausa language
and promote the developmental potential of the youths. Ismai'l said
that the event, tagged `Sarewa Africa Television Project', was timely
since it is coming at a time when the country is yearning for youths'
development.
She said the show would showcase talents, adding: "Serawa Africa
Television Project is a conscious dream that started over 24-months
ago.


"The aim is to provide platform for talented youths to find their
voice, express their talent and support them to build career in music
and acting in Hausa. "Hausa language is one of the most spoken in
Africa. The show, therefore, proposes to encourage the growth of the
language and promote the developmental potential of Kannywood,'' she
said.


She said that the show would cover music, social crises, romance,
unity, non-violence, corruption, political stability and other
developmental needs of society . According to her, the competition has
been segmented across the northern part of the country with event
showcase in Port-Harcourt and Lagos.


Sen. Bello Maitama, who chaired the news conference, said the show
wouldhelp to build the youths in the nation. He described the show as
a noble project worthy of emulation and support from all for the
betterment of Nigeria. (NAN)

Justin, Ashton SWATTER 12 years old

The juvenile who was arrested for phoning in crank 911 calls --
claiming there was gun violence at the homes of Justin Bieber and
Ashton Kutcher -- is only 12 years old ... Y!online has learned.
Sources connected to the boy tell said ... he lives in California with
his mother.  He refuses to go to school and sits at his computer day

remove the child from the home and place him in a stable foster
environment.  We're also told authorities are inclined to get the boy
counseling rather than mete out punishment -- i.e., place him on
probation and if he completes his counseling program all charges will
be dismissed.


It's pretty remarkable ... a 12 year old concocted incredible fake
scenarios to fool cops ... telling them gun-toting Russian thugs had
held people in Ashton's house hostage.The L.A. County D.A. has yet to
make a decision on charging the boy with crimes.

PATRICK OBAHIAGBON speaks over gov .yakowa's death jubilation by Muslims in kaduna

It was reported that while the nation was mourning the death of former
Kaduna State governor, late Patrick Yakowa, in the Saturday's
helicopter crash in Bayelsa, some sections of youth in Kaduna were
jubilating over the incident.


When the current Vice-President, Namadi Sambo was appointed into his
current office, many in Kaduna State reportedly didn't like the
automatic emergence of late Yakowa, then deputy governor to Sambo, as
the next governor of the state. The reason was that Yakowa was a
Kaduna Christian.


Coming out to react to the jubilation in some section of the state
when news went round of his death, former Federal lawmaker, Patrick
Obahiagbon condemned the act in his usual 'complex' use of English.


"Whilst I feel tongue tied that we are witnessing another 'air mishap'
that has taken the lives of fellow Nigerians, I am utterly shocked to
hear of the jubilation in certain Northern political quarters and

SEGUN ARINZE gets IBINABO'S approval to raise fund for NGOZI NWOSU

Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president, Fiberesima Ibinabo has given
her predecessor, Segun Arinze the approval to seek means, along with
others in Nollywood, to raise fund for the medical treatment of one of
them, Ngozi Nwosu, who is suffering from kidney related diseases and
heart problem.


The former AGN president has already sent out an appeal message to his
colleagues in the movie industry and the music industry as well to
help save the veteran screen icon who is in need of six million naira
(N6m) to get medical attention abroad in order to survive.

ANGELINA JOLIE to direct biopic about world war II P.O.W. LOUIE ZAMPERINI

Angelina Jolie is set to direct Unbroken, a film chronicling the life
of Olympic runner and World War II prisoner of war Louis Zamperini,
according to Deadline. "I read Laura Hillenbrand's brilliant book, and
I was so moved by Louie Zamperini's heroic story, I immediately began
to fight for the opportunity to make this film," the Oscar winner said
in a statement. "Louie is a true hero and a man of immense humanity,
faith and courage. I am deeply honored to have the chance to tell his
inspiring story.


" Universal Pictures added, "In her life and in her work, Angelina has
embraced stories and causes involving great struggle and triumph over
tremendous odds and the basic human condition. She has a real ability
to illustrate he strength in human spirit which will be essential in
telling Lou's story of survival and great heroism." Angelina made her
directorial debut in 2012 with her film about the Bosnian war, In the

Solar Plexus – Mavin All stars
The D'Banj-Don Jazzy breakup was one of the top music events of 2012.
The release of the Don Jazzy-led Mavin All star album, 'Solar plexus'
sadly wasn't. And there are no prizes for guessing why. The problems
are legion; weak delivery, over reliance on lavish beats,
underutilization of Wande Coal,puerile lyrics and a general lack of
cohesion. Proponents argue it was a project put together in a hurry
but we say it is still no excuse.


The Statement – Sammie Okposo
There is a reason Sammie Okposo's latest album of gospel tunes was
largely ignored by the record buying populace. It isn't a good album.
The heavy-handed production values attempts to gloss over the fact
that Mr Okposo didnot have a lot to offer this time around but the
cracks kept showing.


Selah – J. Martins
J Martins' latest contains 15 unremarkable and utterly repetitive
songs and isabout as exciting as a dental extraction proceedure. There
is a desperate lack of identity as all of the songs could have easily
been recorded by any of Mr Martins' contemporaries.
Selah may be Hebrew for pause and think but neither attributes were
employed in the crafting of this record.


Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis – Davido
At the start of 2012, with his ubiquitous hit singles and flashy
videos, Davido was the man to beat, up until he released what is
perhaps the most disappointing record of the year. O.B.O may have been
meant to let us have a good time but it fails terribly at it's primary
assignment. It is unbearably tedious, sinks where it should swim and
drags us down with it's weight. This is one album we still wish never
happened.


Footprints – Duncan Mighty
'Footprints', consisting of 18 tracks is filled with flops like
'Rejection to attraction', 'Wine it' (with Shaggy) and just about
every other song on the disc. It is pale, repetitive, tedious,
uninspiring and Timaya has no reason to be looking over his back.
