Barack Obama and Mitt Romney threw down the gauntlet one last time
tonight--and the Twitterverse was ready.

The politically inclined corner of Hollywood was again hanging on
every word of the candidates' third and final debate before the Nov. 6
election, this one devoted to foreign policy and how the sitting
president and his challenger plan to lead the United States forward.

Governor Fashola is not working as Okada riders protest police harassment, vandalise BRT buses

Commercial activities were disrupted for hours in Onipanu, Fadeyi,
Mushin and Ijora areas of Lagos State on Monday after scores of
commercial motorcycle operators otherwise known as okada riders went
on the rampage to protest against police harassment and the state's
traffic law.

The state government had on August 2, 2012, signed into law, the
restriction of commercial motorcycles on 475 roads, specifically,
bridges, expressways and double-carriage roads.

Last Monday, the police began a clampdown on okada riders resulting in
seizure of motorcycles and harassment of the riders.

Our correspondent, who was in Onipanu, reported that the rampaging
okada riders vandalised five BRT buses, causing a stampede among
passengers.

One of the BRT officials, who refused to identify himself, said the
riders wielded dangerous weapons and forced passengers out of the
buses.

He said, "Around 10am, some motorcyclists accosted some of the buses
that were filled with passengers. The riders wielded cutlasses,
sticks, canes and even catapults.

"They smashed the windscreens of the buses and many of the passengers
even sustained injuries while trying to escape. "After sometime, some
policemen came but the okada riders used catapults to hurl stones at
them. They even overpowered one of the policemen and seized his gun.

Before the policemen could call for back-up, the okada riders drove
against traffic and sped off, making it difficult for policemen to
chase them." Agege Motor Road, Palm Avenue and Idi Araba in Mushin
area were also deserted following similar protests.

An okada rider, Paul Okon, accused the police of extorting money from
them under the pretext of enforcing the law. Okon berated the state
government for not protecting okada riders from police harassment and
for not creating alternative jobs.

He said, "The traffic law restricts okada operation from majorly
expressways and bridges. Most of us have accepted to obey the law but
the police are not enforcing the law the right way.

"Policemen now arrest motorcyclists on backstreets and minor roads and
use it as an avenue to extort money from us. Why can't the state
government protect us from police harassment?

"If a policeman arrests a rider on a non- prohibited road and the
policeman claims he arrested the rider on an expressway, who would
believe the rider? Just yesterday, (Sunday) policemen seized four
motorcycles on Fashoro Street, Surulere and collected N5,000 from each
of them. It's very unfair."

Different police patrol vehicles, some of which were inscribed with
Rapid Response Squad, OPS Attack were seen patrolling Mushin area.
Some policemen were seen shooting into the air. Perhaps, the most
affected area was Ijora Olopa where the riders were said to have
vandalised a large number of BRT buses.

Our correspondent, who visited Costain, saw a red Daewoo LAGBUS with
registration number Lagos XR159-AKD and route number D087 that was
badly damaged.

In the bus, there were shoes, a lady's handbag and some items
suspected to be belonging to passengers who fled when the bus was
attacked. It was later towed to Iponri Police Station.

Meanwhile, no Lagos State Traffic Management Authority official was
seen in the affected areas as most were said to have fled. When our
correspondent visited BRT park, Ojota, it was learnt that five newly
refurbished blue buses were among the vandalised vehicles.

The number of the red LAGBUS vehicles vandalised could not be
ascertained but it was learnt that most of them had been conveyed to
Tafawa Balewa Square.

Public Relations Officer, BRT, Nonye Onwumere, urged the state
government to bring the perpetrators to book.
"These buses are expensive to maintain and members of the public need
to understand that the buses are for public comfort," she said. The
PRO said five blue buses were vandalised and no member of staff was
injured.

Lindsay Lohan's camp is firing back at reports that Michael Lohan is
aligned with her legal and management team in an effort to get the

her back.

Meanwhile, the family war between Lindsay's parents continues to rage
with Lindsay and their other children caught in the middle.

The war between Michael and Dina has been ongoing, but a source in Los
Angeles confirms to Radar that Michael does not want control of
Lindsay's money.

Counters another source, "Michael may have the best intentions towards
his daughter, but it's going to be virtually impossible for any judge
to sign off on a conservatorship because Lindsay doesn't meet the
criteria for it at this point. Lindsay is able to take care of
herself, and doesn't appear to be suffering from any serious mental
health issues.

Even if Lindsay is doing drugs and drinking, as her father contends,
that isn't enough for a conservatorship. It would be much better if
Michael took actions out of the glare of the media to stop the
constant chaos."

Chris Brown Attacked Me With A Homophobic F-Word Slur, Claims Fan

Chris Brown continues to use inappropriate homophobic slurs and this
time we exclusively learned the controversial rap star attacked one of
his fans by calling him a "f***ot."

On Friday night Los Angeles resident Lucas Peter was at the Arclight
movie theater in Hollywood when he spotted Chris and his entourage and
approached him to ask for an autograph but Lucas was taken off guard
by Chris' reaction.

"The movie let out and I saw Chris come out the front door, sort of
semi-running. I approached Chris and asked him to sign my CD cover,"
Lucas told our source in an exclusive interview.

"His bodyguard stopped me and said Chris wouldn't be signing, so I
told him Rihanna signs all the time. That's when Chris stopped in the
garage by the parking pay stand and yelled 'f***ot' at me."

Lucas, who is an openly gay man, admits getting angry at Chris'
ignorance and attacking him back by calling him a "wife beater."

"I walked over to where Chris was getting in the elevator and called
him a wife beater and asked him if he was going to beat Rihanna
again," Lucas said.

"Chris said, 'I beat p***y' and then his bodyguard tried to scare me
by saying, 'And I beat men.'"

According to Lucas, Chris took off with his bodyguard and one less fan.

Y! entertainment News exclusively reported last July, Chris stunned
onlookers during a pickup basketball game when he shouted anti-gay
slurs at the other players.

"He got really ticked off when things didnt go his way during the
game, saying, Thats gay! and Youre a f***ot a**! to the other
players," an eyewitness said.

Chris and his long-time girlfriend Karreuche Tran** broke up in
October citing his friendship with Rihanna as the issue and the two
have been spotted getting cozy recently at various events.

Wizkid Hires A New Manager, ' Godwin Tom'

As at when news broke that Wizkid had parted ways with his long-time
manager Osagie Osarenkhoe. since July and he had label executives
handle matters that concern his career which couldn't happen for long
but he has hired a new one which he has taken his time to do, it
seems.

If going by the new face that was around the Starboy at the Headies on
Saturday, Wizkid might have a new manager who also happens to be the
manager of female singing sensation Waje Iruobe or helping out with
the singer's SafeHouse project.

His name is Godwin Tom and he is no stranger to the music industry as
he previously managed M.I. and most recently Show Dem Camp.

The light skinned young man was seen with the singer all through the
award, spotted backstage with EME's biggest earner Wizkid (Godwin Tom
also confirmed Wizkid recording in his Hotel room after the EME singer
tweeted: 'Studio in the hotel room!!!…we just made the jam of the
year!!') and the following day escorting him out of the lobby of the
Eko Hotel & Suites.

It does seem that Wizkid and his new manager are bonding well. Though
no official words from both parties yet as they are still finalizing
issues, Sources have said that he might be
travelling with Wizkid for his show in Dublin later this month.

According to the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the
airline company that crashed and killed 158 people in June 2012 is the
best domestic carrier in Nigeria -
well, they said in 2011.

Reports say that Fuji star, Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal better
known as K1 De Ultimate has finally moved to his Ijebu Ode, Ogun State
multi-million naira house. The posh mansion was completed back in
March 2012 during his 55th birthday but the ace musician decided to
move into it some days ago.

The mansion, according to what source gathered, is named
'Omoojusagbola House'. K1 De Ultimate has now relocated from his Lagos
home and has made the Ijebu Ode house his new abode.

Rihanna Attends Chris Brown Internet Channel Party As Both Get Very Cozy At the Party

The Chris Brown and Rihanna saga continued on Saturday night when the
two were spotted getting close at a Hollywood event.

The Good Girl Gone Bad took a break from recording her new album,
Unapologetic, to support the singer at the launch of his new Internet
channel on Qubeey.com. The party was held at a private residence in
Beverly Hills.

According to other partygoers Rihanna and Brown were getting very cozy
hugging and even sharing a drink and a cigarette with each other.

At one point the lovebirds were spotted sitting on a sofa in the VIP
section alongside comedian Brandon T Jackson.

Brown and Rihanna who split in 2009 after he was convicted of beating
her up have made no secret of the fact that they have reconciled.

Over the past few weeks he has dumped his girlfriend Karrueche Tran
and even released a video claiming to be in love with two people.

Rihanna speaks about their relationship, and forgiving him for
assaulting her, in the November issue of Vogue. She said: The world
hasnt let go. They havent seen any progress in our friendship, because
they dont see anything. But theyre not on the inside.

In the meantime the singer has been posting cryptic messages on her
Twitter page. On Friday she tweeted: I found the one, he changed my

Oshiomhole frees two prisoners condemned to Death

GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has granted amnesty to two
prisoners condemned to death in exercise of his prerogative of mercy.

The governor said the prisoners, Monday Odu, who was sentenced to
death for conspiracy and murder, and Calistus Ikem, convicted for
conspiracy and armed robbery, were granted amnesty because they did
not take the lives of their victims.

He also commuted to life imprisonment the sentence of death penalty
for two others: Tijani Mustapha, convicted for conspiracy and armed
robbery; and Zubem Abduramma, convicted for conspiracy and armed
robbery; while Patrick. Ojiefo, who was convicted for assault on a
police officer while discharging his lawful duty and served 6-months
jail term in 1973, was granted pardon.

Speaking after granting amnesty to Odu and Ikem, Oshiomhole said: "You
have been condemned to death for murder but we have exercised the
prerogative of mercy to release you from prison for the offence
believing you have learnt your lesson. You can still be useful to
society and useful to yourself."

While addressing Odu, 32, and a minor when he was convicted in 1997,
the governor said, "We are letting you off the hook to go and sin no
more. We will find a way to find a job for you under the Edo Youth
Employment Scheme.

You have no reason to return to crime and that means if you do
anything again you are completely on your own."

He told Ikem, 52, and convicted in 1996, to be ready to work and cope
with the rigours of life as he returned to his family in Imo State.

"You stole house hold items which could have taken your life. The
government will give you N200,000 and another N100, 000 to Monday Odu
to go and start all over. I hope you will be able to make something
positive out of this your present condition," Oshiomhole added.

The Comptroller of Prisons in Edo State, Mr. Ewuho Jimoh, who led the
prisoners to Government House, said he was presenting the two inmates
who had been granted amnesty in compliance with a letter granting them

Tai Solarin's widow, Sheila Solarin, passes on

Madam Sheila Solarin (Nee Tuer), the wife of Dr Tai Solarin, the
educator and author who established the famous Mayflower School,
Ikenne, Ogun State, has died.

British born Sheila Mary, who was a co- founder of the Mayflower
School, died today October 21st 2012 at Babcock University Teaching
Hospital in Sagamu.

She was 88 years old. Tai Solarin died in 1994 at the age of 71. May
her soul rest in peace...
