Alleged killing of wife: Nollywood actor, Oganiru arrested

According to the source, Oganiru was arrested following a petition by
family and relations of the wife who claimed that she was poisoned by
the actor who had allegedly perfected the act to do away with her in
order to acquire her wealth said to be stupendous.
The wife was said to have been hospitalized for three months for an
undisclosed ailment in an Abuja hospital with the Nollywood actor
abandoning her until the last day she was to be discharged, before
Oganiru came to the hospital to take her home.
On getting home, she died that same day. Police sources however told
Saturday source that though investigation into the death and alleged
murder of the wife was still ongoing, Mr. Oganiru has been granted
bail.
When Saturday Vanguard sought to know why the Police would grant a
murder suspect bail, the source disclosed that though there was
evidence to show the actor did not treat his wife well regarding her
well being, there was nothing to show the actor had a hand in her
death.
The source pointed out that both forensic and medical examinations
were performed on the corpse of the deceased and that the posthumous
examination showed she did not die as a result of poison.
The allegation was that Rich Oganiru murdered his wife through poison.
Though our investigation showed he did not treat her like a wife
deserves to be treated, there was nothing to show that she died or was
killed by poison. Agency reports had indicated that Rich Oganiru who
prides himself as one of the pioneering members of the Actors Guild of
Nigeria and has starred in over 300 movies is under detention for
complicity leading to the death of a very rich Abuja based
multimillionaire businesswoman believed to be his wife. The report
alleged that the woman was not his first wife, as the first wife also
died years back and that Oganiru was in a very poor state of life
before he met the Abuja based multi-millionaire who transformed his
life in a matter of months.
Rich Oganiru, according to those who know him,
continued the report, loves money and attention almost to a fault.
Aside that, he also likes blowing his own trumpet as he always praises
himself, "I have starred in over 300 movies, I am the Corporate
Marketing Consultant to the Abuja Chapter of AGN, and a high flying
Evangelist called to lead the skilled and unskilled gifted in art to
realize their God's given potentials in the Kingdom. "I am the General
Overseer of Davidical Order Ministry, we discover, develop, expose,
empower and evangelize musicians, actors, and artistes to be relevant
in their different churches- a non. denominational outreach for the
entertainment industry", according to his self- appraised on face

Former Governor James Ibori, transferred to UK maximum security prison

James Ibori

Convicted former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, has been transferred to a maximum-security prison, the Worcestershire Long Lartin Prison outside London.

United Kingdom prison officials confirmed the transfer to , saharareporters.com, but said they could not tell what informed the move.

"Yes, Mr. Ibori is now serving his prison term in the Long Lartin prison in Worcestershire," said an official of the UK prisons.

The maximum-security prison houses terrorists, rapists, drug barons and other violent criminals. A recent report in The Guardian, a major UK newspaper, portrayed the prison as a rough, lawless facility where gangsters reign supreme.

In April this year, Ibori was sentenced to 13 years in prison for using UK financial institutions to launder hundreds of millions of pound sterling he stole from public funds in Delta State.

Ibori is expected to serve at least seven years in the UK since he received credit for his detention in the United Arab Emirates as well as the UK prior to his trial.

The United States Department of Justice recently restrained assets belonging to the former governor in Texas and Massachusetts. A U.S attorney told SaharaReporters that the action means that Ibori is in legal trouble in the United States whenever he serves out his prison term in the UK.

One of Ibori's lawyers, Bhadresh Gohil, his wife, Theresa Nkoyo, sister, Christine Ibori-Ibie, and mistress, Udoamaka Okoronkwo were all sentenced to prison terms for aiding and abetting the former governor in his money laundering activities.culled from punch
