MAN-CITY AND UNITED PLAYERS BATTLE MESSI AND RONALDO FOR FIFA Ballon d’Or 2012 / 2013.

SERGIO AGUERO, Mario Balotelli, Yaya Toure, Wayne Rooney and Robin van
Persie have been named on the shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d'Or.

Lionel Messi, who has won the last two awards, and Cristiano Ronaldo
lead the way as favourites for the coveted prize.

English player — Manchester United ace Rooney.

Aguero scored the goal that secured Manchester City's first Premier
League title victory.

His team-mate Balotelli was less impressive for City but shone at Euro
2012 as Italy reached the final.

Toure meanwhile was at the heart of Roberto Mancini's big spending
side and guided Ivory Coast to the African Nations Cup final.

Rooney and Van Persie, who joined United from Arsenal this summer,
were the two top scorers in the league last season.

Euro 2012 winners Spain boast SEVEN players on the list with 12 from
Spanish clubs.

Votes from coaches and captains of national teams, as well as a number
of journalists, will be be collated to find a top three who will be
revealed on November 29.

And the overall winner will be named by FIFA on January 7, 2013.

Three Premier League managers make the 10-man shortlist for FIFA Coach
of the Year.
