Rafa Benitez BOOED BY FANS was expected As Chelsea and Man-City play Goalless

Rafa Benitez was not expecting a royal welcome on his first day at
the saddle as Chelsea boss but the treatment he got from fans, will
leave him stunned to say the least.

As the teams lined up for the pre-match handshakes and Benitez emerged
from the tunnel, it was boos and jeers that rang throughout Stamford
Bridge from Chelsea supporters who apparently had a soft spot for
sacked coach, Roberto Di Matteo. The reaction was sharply in contrast
to what Benitez was expecting – before the game, when he was asked
about his expection from the home fans, he responded, "I don't think
it will be bad. They know they have to support the manager."

Soon as the boos died down, a minute's applause was observed in memory
of former Chelsea manager, Dave Sexton, who died today at the age of
82.

Although the game ended in a stalement, Benitez will be too glad with
the result. At the post-match tunnel interview, Petr Cech said, "Today
was about starting from zero again and getting a positive result."
While Manchester City skipper, Vincent Kompany had this to say:
"There's not many teams that come here and win."
