Tragedy : Mother of twins commits suicide by jumping into Osun River in Ede

A few days after she was delivered of a set of twins, Mrs Shekinat
Abdurazaq, 27, allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday when she
jumped into the Osun River in Ede.

The incident occurred at about 3.30 p.m. on the Osun River Bridge on
the Oke Gada Road. It was learnt that the woman, who hailed from Ede
in Osun, delivered the twins 11 days ago.

An eyewitness account revealed that shortly before Abdurazaq jumped
into the river, she reportedly prayed and gave alms to beggars around
the bridge head.

One of the eyewitnesses, who identified himself as Selia Mojeed, said
that people did not know that Abdurazaq wanted to commit suicide, else
they would have prevented her from doing so.

Although efforts to speak with her husband failed, it was said that
the woman had no outstanding problems with her spouse, family or
neighbours before the incident.

Efforts by sympathisers and passersby to rescue the woman failed as
she was said to have drowned immediately. Shortly after the incident,
her husband who also attempted to jump into the river was prevented
from doing so by onlookers.

The police later whisked away the deceased's husband and placed him
under safe custody at the Police "A" Division in Ede. Contacted, the
state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed
the incident.

PHOTO : ALLEGED CANNIBAL ATTACK ON SUBWAY IN CHINA OCTOBER 10 2012

A retired teacher in Guangzhou, China allegedly brutally attacked a
younger man in a squabble over a subway seat on Monday repeatedly
biting him until both men were covered in blood.

The incident was caught on tape by a female passenger, who uploaded
the clip to Chinese website Sina Weibo, China Daily reports.

The older man, a 67-year-old who has been identified only as "Chen,"
boarded the subway at around 8:30 a.m., according to Sina.com.

The younger man, a 28-year-old identified as "Wu," reportedly shoved
Chen out of the way as he scrambled to get a seat.

Chen then began chastising Wu for not respecting his elders, a witness
told New Express Daily, according to China Daily's translation. The
woman says the older man then punched Wu, resulting in a physical
fight that ended with the biting scene in the video.

The witness noted that bystanders initially did try to break up the
fight, but it quickly became so violent that they were frightened
away.

Both Chen and Wu suffered only minor injuries, according to Sina.com's
translation of the Southern Metropolis Daily.
Neither man is facing charges, and both reportedly apologize for their
actions. Even so, residents of Guangzhou may want to consider seeing
if they can get in on the zombie apocalypse training offered by the
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, just to be safe.

Dr SID ' I was talking to Davido Not Wande Coal ' !! Someone engage in the Conversation

Dr SID says the other person engaged in the conversation was pop star Davido…

Dr SID has spoken.

Apparently confirming the authenticity of the leaked conversation, he
asked this newspaper to 'upload the full conversation' while informing
us that it was Davido, not Wande Coal he had that particular
discussion with.

SID took to Twitter last night, to clarify that it was NOT Wande
Coal's voice but pop singer Davido's that was in the leaked recording.

'@yinkuzblog before I respond to ur post please upload the full convo
and for the record the person u call wande coal is actually
@iam_davido', @IamDrSID wrote on his Twitter page.

It is now being rumoured that the leak was orchestrated by former
Mo'Hits hype man Edward Chukuma-Jiah better known as Special Ed who
may have been present when Dr SID was arguing with Davido. We could
not immediately confirm this.

The motive? Special Ed along with Davido have since parted ways with
the MAVIN crew after issues came up over trying to score a Wande Coal
collaboration on his debut album 'Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis'.
Special Ed is seen with Davido and the HKN crew – in his videos and
several locations, and he still works the stage with D'banj.

A few minutes after Y! News broke the story, Special Ed tweeted 'U
know say! @ d end of the day I will alwaiz b ah bad man!!!!' Davido
immediately retweeted him.

Will update you more in our subsequent News !!

PHOTOS:DIDIER DROGBA DOUBLE CAUSE TROUBLE OVER SENEGAL VS IVORY COAST MATCH

An Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Senegal and Cote
d'Ivoire was cancelled Saturday after home fans set fire and threw
debris in the stadium.

Home fans started the riot when the match was 15 minutes from the end
and visiting Cote d'Ivoire were 2-0 ahead, with second half goals by
Didier Drogba which meant Senegal would be eliminated following their
first-leg 4-2 loss unless a miracle happened in the last minutes.

The match was stopped after 76 minutes of play and then officially
abandoned due to the crowd trouble 40 minutes later. Police had to use
tear gas to disperse the crowd while Ivory Coast fans were allowed on
to the pitch to protect them from the Senegal fans that were freely
hurling tin cans and water bombs.

Trouble in MAVIN? Dr SID and Wande Coal Conversation Over D’banj laeked.

Just when we were thinking the D'banj-Don Jazzy saga was ending, yet
another controversy has come up- this time former Mo'Hits-now-MAVIN
records act Dr SID plays the leading role in the 'never-ending' movie.

A secret recording which has leaked will stir up more controversies
and give us a little more insight as to why the former 'supergroup'
broke up with bosses –

D'banj and Don Jazzy parting ways. Dr SID in the recording, obtained
exclusively by Source, is heard talking in a rather upset tone about
how his former label boss D'banj's personality was over-shining his
and the rest of the crew members.

'Why don't they know my name? Because your brand and star is too much
it is overshadowing', Dr SID angrily said.

Wande Coal however had another opinion;
he argued back and forth with Dr SID,explaining that it was D'banj
that actually brought them to the limelight.

'Guuuy, it's not that, D'banj can help anybody, ….If not for D'banj
nobody would have looked at Wande, guy I dey lie? Men, I don't know',
Wande argued back.

Not convinced, Dr SID argues 'Batman and Robin, who them dey call? Na
D'banj na. D'banj did more negative than positive for my career'.

The date of the recording is not known but sources close to the camp
say it is just a few weeks old.

'It is a well known fact that Dr SID and D'banj have been having
inside brawls even though he (D'banj) was the one that dragged him
into Mo'Hits back then', a source close to the MAVIN camp tells us in
anonymity.

Several sources insist Dr SID was one of the persons who engineered
the Mo'Hits split. 'He wanted to always be as big as D'banj. Wande was
content as the fan. favourite, D'Prince is okay as long as his elder
brother makes the money', our source continues.

SID and D'banj reportedly clashed severally during the Mo'Hits years.
We also gathered that all doesn't seem
to be well in the MAVIN camp; with Wande Coal allegedly telling close
friends that his boss Don Jazzy might not have the financial capacity
required to carry the group.

But donating N2m to cancer patient Funmi Lawal weeks back, amongst
other philanthropic gestures, would make anyone perish the thought of
the possibility of the producer being broke.

Still waiting for Mavin Crew to respond to this !! Will keep you
updated !! Have a great Day !!!

Wonder shall Never End: Pastor dragged to court over alleged assault, pornography

All efforts by an Agege Grade A Customary Court,Lagos to convince
Blessing, wife of Pastor Victor Odafe, to give her husband a second
chance proved abortive as she remained adamant on divorce.

The mother of two who, dragged her husband before the court, vowed not
to have anything to do with Victor whom she claimed always threatened
her with physical injuries whenever they had misunderstanding.

Blessing told the court that she lost interest in the relationship
when she found that her husband was irresponsible and also lacked
care for her and their children.

She added that Victor once alleged that she was responsible for his
dwindling fortune. Blessing also claimed that the husband used to call
her unprintable names including being a prostitute, adding that when
she gave birth to their second child, he denied the paternity
mainly because the baby was black in complexion while they (the
parents ) are fair.

The drug and cosmetic marketer alleged that Victor was fond of
watching pornographic movies whenever he felt like masturbating.

"l always warned him to stop the bad habit, because it doesn't
portray him in good light as a minister of God". She urged the court
to dissolve the marriage and grant her
custody of the children.

In his defence, Victor, who claims to be a pastor at Empowerment
Church Oregun, Lagos, denied the allegations. According to him, he
gave Blessing some money to join him in the church, only to return and
discovered that she had gone with the children.

The husband added that he quickly informed her parents who told him
that they were not aware of his wife's decision to pack out of her
matrimonial home. " I was amazed. I had to call my boss to intervene
and he did, but Blessing proved stubborn".

He claimed that he began to notice on their wedding day that his wife
was aggressive and abusive, adding that she always nagged. However,
Victor blamed himself for encouraging his wife to abort a pregnancy,
saying he did it out of ignorance.

The husband also regretted beating his wife due to frustration he
"experienced as an Okada rider".

He added, "I had a good job when we were living in Nnewi, Anambra
State, before relocating to Lagos, but, in order to make ends meet, l
became an Okada rider and got frustrated by the day".

Meanwhile, the court adjourned the case till November 5, 2012 for
further hearing. It advised the couple to consider reconciliation and
return to give progress report at the next
adjournment date.

Mourinho: Atletico Madrid Striker' Falcao ' is a forbidden fruit

The former Inter boss explained that the unwritten agreement between
the Madrid rivals makes it impossible for him to sign key players from
Los Rojiblancos.

"Falcao is a fundamental player for our rivals, just like Kun Aguero
was. There is a pact of non-aggression between Real Madrid and
Atletico so I think Falcao is a forbidden fruit," Mourinho told A
Bola.

"He's a fantastic player, and I get the feeling he is a lovely guy,
and I'm very happy to see him do so well at Atletico."

The 49-year-old spoke previously about how he was not the most popular
figure in football but says he does not care about his popularity.

When asked whether Madrid is criticized more often because he is in
charge of the club, the Portuguese coach said that his success in the
capital should be enough to silence the critics.

"Our results speak for themselves and show that in just over two years
we have got closer and closer to Barcelona and now we are up there
with them and have won the three major trophies in Spanish football in
that time," he stated.

"We broke the dominance of Barcelona, something many people thought
was impossible."

Mourinho then went on to hit back at criticism made by Tito Vilanova,
who claimed that he could make a video of all the times that Pepe has
kicked Barcelona players.

"It's funny because now Pepe is in a situation where he gets booked in
every game, even if he just commits one foul. People have created an
image of Pepe which they find comfortable," he added.

"He is adored at Madrid and it doesn't matter what Vilanova says,
people won't change their mind about Pepe." goal.com

LATEST- BISI OBE/DINO MELAYE PREGNANCY : I FORGAVE MY IN-LAW BECAUSE HE BEGGED ME WITH HIS MUM- DINO MELAYE

Few days ago, it was reported a twitter rant by Dino Melaye's
brother-in-law, Moses Yomi Fabiyi over the pregnancy denial mess Dino
is involved in with Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo Obe.

In his twitter attack, Moses, who is a barrister, claimed the former
Kogi lawmaker may have been responsible for Bisi's pregnancy. He then
tweeted that Dino must be lucky to have married his sister, Tokunbo,
who Moses said was the calmest of the Fabiyi girls.

Moses' twitter attack on Dino was greeted with mixed reactions as some
faulted the lawyer for igniting the whole matter rather than not take
side on the matter so as not to break his sister's home.

Some moments ago, the controversial former Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) House of Representatives member took to twitter to announce that
Moses has apologised to him along with his mother, who is Dino's
mother-in-law.

He tweeted, "Moses Fabiyi has apologised to me, his mum also did. So,
I have forgiven him. Peace."

The controversy trailing Bisi's pregnancy is yet to die down. Bisi has
reportedly challenged Dino for a DNA test when the baby is born.

what do you think ' Bisi OMOLOGBALOGBA ' is trying to get out from
this ?could she be forcing herself on DINO or What ? It is left for
you to decide !!!!

Gov Aliyu Explains How Boko Haram started

Notorious leader of the radical Islamic fundamentalist sect,
Boko-haram, Abubakar Shekau started his 'ministry' in an expansive
land located within a remote village in Niger
state a few years ago before they were dislodged by the state government.

Abubakar Shekau, the acclaimed spokesman of a factional group of the
sect led by, Abubakar Kaka who is believed to have been killed by men
of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri were dislodged from the
then, Daru-Islam by security operatives in the year, 2009.

Niger state Governor, Dr. Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu who made this known
in Minna when he met with traders at the government house also
confirmed that the pictures of both Shekau and Abu Kaka posted
regularly on the sects websites and published in newspapers are the
same with the ones the security agents captured before the duo were
dislodged from Niger state.

The Governor said but for the proactive nature adopted by the security
agencies in dislodging the group from the state and the support given
by state government, Niger state would been the headquarters of the
dreaded sect.

Governor Aliyu said it is necessary for all Nigerians to rise up and
oppose the activities of the fundamentalists which he said has had
untold negative effects on the economy of not
only the northern part of the country but Nigeria as a whole.

He said for any business to thrive it must be in a peaceful and
secured environment, insisting that in view of the series of attacks
on security men in Niger state capital government will tighten
security within and outside Minna the state capital and therefore
asked that they should cooperate with security operatives handling the
exercise.

Defending the movement of the old Minna central market to its present
location, Governor Aliyu said the market when it was established did
not envisage the rapid growth the state
capital had witnessed.

When the market was at its old location it contributed to congestion
being experienced in the city centre, Aliyu said adding that the other
market at PZ area of Minna will soon be moved to the Kure market to
give more room for the development of the Minna city centre.

Aliyu told his guests that critics of the administration were those
who wanted him to be sharing public money without embarking on any
developmental programmes, insisting that
the same people will in no distant future turn round to say he (Aliyu)
spent 8 years without anything to show for it.

Governor Aliyu who solicited for the continued support of the
administration in its developmental strides said, "My government. will
not share money, what is uppermost in my
mind now is the development of the state".

The traders through their spokesmen Alhaji Mohammed Umoru and Alhaji
Dandere pledged their loyalty to Governor Aliyu and his administration
but asked that the governor
should reduce the series of levies they have to pay daily in the markets.

GOOD OR BAD - LAST MINUTE STRUGGLE FAILS NIGERIA TO REDEEM BAKASSI

For several months, the Bakassi issue had been the front burner of
public discourse. But the hope of different interest groups, including
the National Assembly, to have the Federal Government appeal the
ceding of Bakassi to Cameroon was dashed less than 24 hours to the
expiration of the 10-year period given for appeal.

The International Court of Justice in the Hague, Netherlands had on
Oct. 10, 2002 ruled that Nigeria should cede the oil-rich Bakassi
peninsula to Cameroon. The hope initially raised by President Goodluck
Jonathan by instituting a committee to look into the appeal about a
week before the deadline, was however dashed on Monday. This is
because the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, said
Nigeria would not apply for the review of the ICJ ruling which ceded
Bakassi to Cameroon.

In making a case for the FG's position, Adoke explained that the
argument canvassed by proponents of the review "is virtually bound to
fail" as "a failed application will be diplomatically damaging to
Nigeria."

But the government's decision had only provoked further controversy as
a section of Nigerians, who had campaigned for a review of the ICJ
judgement felt seriously disappointed.

However, another section of Nigerians agreed with the FG's position,
saying it was rather too late in the day to file an appeal. Yet
another group of pundits said the FG's final position did not come as
a surprise after all, considering the lukewarm attitude it had
exhibited towards the matter over the years.

Meanwhile, during a protest organised on Tuesday by members of the
Cross River State House of Assembly, who took to the streets over the
matter, the state government accused the AGF of trading falsehood and
misleading Nigerians on the FG's refusal to seek a review of the
judgement of the ICJ. Some of them called for the sacking of Adoke and
the impeachment of President Jonathan for not defending the
constitution as they had sworn to.

The Speaker of the assembly, Mr. Larry Odey, led the 25-member
procession to Governor Liyel Imoke's office in Calabar to express
their anger and bitterness.

He said Adoke's claim ran contrary to that of Jonathan, who identified
with the views of the majority of members of the National Assembly and
supported the move by setting up a committee to review the judgement.

A member representing Bakassi in the assembly, Mr. Saviour Nyong,
described himself as one of the displaced persons from the area and
said that the FG did not seek their consent before ceding them to
Cameroon.

Nyong said that no nation had ever ceded its portion to another
without a plebiscite, adding that the decision of the FG was an
international conspiracy against the people of Bakassi.

He noted that the Green Tree Agreement had not been ratified by the
National Assembly and that the people of Bakassi had the right to take
their destiny in their hands. Another member representing Abi
constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Mr. John-Gaul
Lebo, said it was the ICJ's position to issue the statement not the
AGF.

However, a statement by the state Attorney General and Commissioner
for Justice, Mr. Attah Ochinke, pointed out that contrary to the
position of Adoke and the FG, Nigeria still had about seven grounds
upon which a review of the judgement could have been pursued.

He said, "The FG adduced several reasons for its decision, including
the claim that the committee set up by (President) Jonathan could not
get new information from the proponents for a review to warrant
seeking a review of the judgement.

"While Cross River should not be seen as taking issues with the FG, it
is however pertinent to state our own side of the story for the sake
of posterity.

"First, it must be emphasised that for us in Cross River, Bakassi is
not about oil; it is about the people. I regret to say that it is not
true that new facts were not made available to the committee that
would have compelled Nigeria to seek a review of the ICJ judgement.

If anything, the FG's decision is coming after several days of
frenzied activities towards applying for a review of the judgement.
While we concede that the FG has the prerogative not to apply for a
review, we find the reasons given for that decision most unfortunate.

"The claim that seeking a review will tarnish Nigeria's image in the
comity of nations is also very unfortunate. Several countries applied
for a review of similar judgements delivered against them without
losing credibility.

So the fact that Nigeria had complied with the judgement is the ground
that should qualify us to apply for a review and should not be the
reason why we should be ashamed to do what is necessary to protect
Nigerians."

Ochinke noted that the Cross River State claim came as a boost to many
observers, who had expected Nigeria to seek a review of the judgement.

A former Special Adviser to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo on National
Assembly Matters, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, said it was good the FG
did not waste money for an appeal.

In a protest rally organised on Monday by the natives of Bakassi in
her residence in Calabar, Ita-Giwa said that Nigeria lost Bakassi to
Cameroon 10 years ago through the ruling and finally four years ago
when the handing over was done.

She said that if there were things to be done to review the matter,
it should have been done four or five years ago, adding that though
Nigerians had shown great interest in the Bakassi issue belatedly, the
displaced Bakassi people were not counting down anything but calling
for their resettlement at Day Spring Island.

She said, "Today, we are still a displaced people and displaced people
are worse than refugees. For 10 years after the judgement, we have
cried, nobody listened to us. Today, we are surprised that two days to
the expiration people have gone to court. We appreciate efforts of
Cross River State Government, but what we want is shelter," she said.

No matter the protest, annoyance, explanations and excuses, Nigeria
has finally lost the chance to redeem Bakassi.

Should the Displaced people accept their fate? Well it's up to you Y !

NOLLYWOOD SINGER/ACTRESS ASHIONYE - REASON I MARRIED MY OYINBO HUSBAND

Ashionye Ugboh-Raccah is a talented singer and actress. Asides
establishing a career in music, she has had good shots at acting
featuring in M-net's produced Doctor's Quaters and Tinsel and later,
Lilian Amah's Jungle Ride which fetched her an AMAA nomination for
Most Promising actress.

Recently, she concluded production of her gender inspired movie titled
Journey to Self, where she is using the medium to denounce the
prevailing ill-treatment that is often meted to the women in the
society. In this interview, Ashionye talks about the project, her
acting career and what binds her together with her oyinbo husband.

When ask ,are you A feminist? She said

I'm not a feminist. If not, I wouldn't have been happily married with
a child. Actually, I believe in female empowerment.

"Journey to Self" is a story that is being relayed through the eyes
of these women because the same issues affect the men as well as the
children in their lives. So, it's a social issue addressed through
the eyes of these women.

How come you branched into producing films after a long absence from the screen?

After I had my son, I decided to take some time off the entertainment
circuit. While I was on vacation, I started writing. I was inspired
to write after reading various stories online, and in the national
dailies about a woman's situation in the society.

You started out with Tinsel, that was where you made your name?

Not really, I started with "Doctor's Quaters"which also was an M-net
production in 2005. That was one of my very first acting on television
and on stage, I did a "V- monolog: Nigerian story" and also, a stage
play titled "Once upon a Mad " produced by Kofi, a comedian.

Thereafter, I did a movie titled "Jungle Ride"which gave me two
nominations; Best Upcoming Actress And Best Actress at AMAA and Naija
Awards. "Doctors Quaters" was my very last television series before I
went into producing my own movie "Journey to Self".

While you lasted on the set of Tinsel, what would you remember as your
greatest undoing?

Tinsel was funny. I didn't have any challenge on the set of Tinsel.
Even the boy, Dozie who played the role of my son, he was equally
amazing. I learnt so much from the people on the set of Tinsel as well
as they learnt from me. May want to ask how I got on the set of
Tinsel, I travelled out of the country for a holiday and when I
returned, I was invited for a reading which I did. That was how I
joined the cast.

It wasn't difficult because their was an existing character and they
needed to introduce another character. I was asked to read for the new
character as well as the existing one. But after the exercise, I was
given the role of Monica Adewale which was the existing character.

Apart from acting , and producing, you also sing?
Like what one Rev. father said , if you have lots of talents ,don't
be shy to express yourself. I believe that I have lots of talents
which I need to showcase to the world; be it radio , television and
the big screen. I read Mass Communication in the university and I
guess, the knowledge I acquired from school was what prompted me to go
into radio and television presenting. The acting is inborn in me. I
will say I started acting at a very young age as well as singing.

What would you say marriage have done for you?
Marriage have matured me. As a single woman, there were certain things
I did that I can' t do now. Marriage and the birth of my child have
made me a lot more patient and matured person. I am a woman now. There
are some things that I look at now as a wife and a mother, and I
ignore. But back then, I wasn't matured enough and I thought I was.
I have been matured for over three years now.

How did you meet your husband?
I met my husband in 2001, we have known each other for over 11years.
We met here, in Lagos.

Is it a new trend where Nollywood stars are falling for the 'Oyinbos'?
This is not about going for the "Oyinbo's" or the 'Oyinbos' coming for
us. It's about the relationship. It' s not a matter of whether your
husband is black or white. It depends on the relationship you have
built over the years with him.

It depends on a lot of of things. And by the way, how many Nollywod
actresses are married to the Oyinbos? I don't see colour as an
individual in marriage. My husband doesn't see colour either. I
believe that the actresses that you are referring to, and their
husbands don't see colour too. That's why they decided to marry. The
world is one colour to me, but don't ask me which colour.

You might see my husband as a white man, but I don't see him that way.
After all, my husband was born in Kano and he speaks Hausa fluently.
He is a Nigerian as much as you are a Nigerian too. So, I don't see
colour in our marriage.

What was the reaction of your parents when you introduced him to you?
There was no opposition. My dad knew I have been in a relationship
with him for awhile. So, there was no reason for him to oppose the
marriage. He was very happy to welcome another son-in-law into our
family. The relationship between my husband and my father was
fantastic.

Now that you are back in Nollywood, have the scripts started flying
into your hands?
I have gotten some offers for movies that will shot early next year.
And I have accepted to star in those movies. They are two movies at
the moment.

NEWS : POLICE SHOOT SALES GIRL DEAD, INJURE 3 OTHERS

The girl was hit in the chest by bullets fired into a photography shop
where she worked as a sales girl.

Three other people sustained gunshot injuries when policemen from the
FCT Police Command fired bullets indiscriminately in an attempt to
enforce the demolition order of the Abuja Metropolitan Management
Council.

The policemen had stormed the area around 7 am with officials of
Development Control Department, who had come to demolish illegal
structures.

But residents and indigenes, who felt that the government had no right
to demolish their houses when they were yet to be resettled, resisted
the operation.

They claimed that the case was still in court and that their leaders
had advised them to continue to live in the area pending the
determination of the suit.

As the policemen shot indiscriminately to control the residents,
bullets penetrated into one of the shops and Lucy was hit in the
chest. She was rushed to Garki Hospital, but she was confirmed dead on
arrival. Her body has been deposited in the mortuary.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, met
the House of Representatives representing AMAC/Bwari constituency of
the FCT, Zephaniah Jisalo, at the hospital when he visited.

Inalegwu, who was in tears, assured the lawmaker that the case would
be investigated.

"We are not sure what took our men there or what led to the shooting,
it's still a matter for investigation," he said.

Emeka Ani, owner of the photo shop, where the deceased worked, said
that his sales boy also sustained gunshot injuries during the
incident.

He said, "From morning, the police surrounded our area. They said they
came for demolition. All of a sudden, they started shooting
sporadically. They shot into my shop and killed my sales girl. My boy
also sustained injuries. Lucy has been with me for about one month.
Her sister brought her for me from Cross River."

The National Coordinator, Greater Gbyagi Initiative, Mr. Gimba Baiza,
described the incident as wicked.

More Risky for Pregnant Women who Sleep On their Back ,May Experience increase Still - Birth

Pregnant women who sleep on their backs may increase the risk of
miscarriage, Australian research has found. The study, known as the
Sydney Still-birth Study, looked at the pregnancies of 295 women from
eight hospitals around Australia.

The five-year study found that women who sleep on their backs are six
times more likely to have a stillborn baby.

Lead researcher Dr Adrienne Gordon, from Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred
Hospital, said previous research had suggested prolonged periods in
this position restricted blood flow to the baby. It's thought that
sleeping on the right side or on the back reduces blood flow through a
major vein from the legs to the heart, which affects the supply to the
womb.

The researchers added it was important that women who are currently
pregnant 'don't become alarmed if they sometimes sleep on their back'.
Experts have pointed out previously that three-quarters of pregnant
women sleep mostly on the left side – higher than the rate in women
who are not pregnant. This may suggest they instinctively choose a
sleeping position that works best for baby.

10% of stillborn babies have some kind of abnormality, and other
possible causes include problems with the mother's health or problems
with the placenta, which links the baby's blood supply to the
mother's.

Still-birth Foundation Australia, which funded Dr Gordon's work, said
the study was unique as it looked exclusively at women who were more
than 32 weeks pregnant.

'It's in this later stage of pregnancy that the largest proportion of
stillbirths occur,' director Emma McLeod says. 'For around 40% of
stillbirths after 32 weeks, they are otherwise perfectly healthy
babies and there is no medical explanation as to why they died.'

In addition to sleep position, significant risk factors for
still-birth included how much the baby moved and whether it was the
size it should be for its age.

'We found an association with decreased movements and stillborn
babies,' Dr Gordon said.

On the other hand, in women with healthy pregnancies who had a live
birth, the frequency and strength of the babies' movements actually
increased later in the pregnancy.

Dr Gordon added: 'This may de-bunk the myth that it's normal for a
baby's movement to slow down at the end of pregnancy. We didn't find
that at all.'

Emma Laing, midwifery manager, said: 'Should women have any concerns
or feel their babies' movements have decreased, they should contact
their midwife.'

Last year a University of Auckland study found mothers who slept on
their back or right-hand side on the night before giving birth were
twice as likely to have a stillborn child compared with those who
slept on their left.

But the researchers cautioned pregnant women not to be over-concerned
by the finding. 'It was an observational study, not one that can show
cause and effect – all it does is show an association,' said lead
researcher Tomasina Stacey.

Janet Scott, of the Still-birth and Neonatal Death Society charity,
said sleeping position could 'play a part in well-being'. After-all,
she added, mothers-to-be are 'encouraged to lie on their left for
ante-nat al appointments' to increase blood flow.

A stillborn baby is a baby born dead after 24 weeks of pregnancy. If
the baby dies before 24 completed weeks, it is known as a late
miscarriage. Culled from Daily Health

PHOTO: Michael Jacksons Kids: Three Years After His Death

We have to ask -- would their dad be rolling over in his grave? Paris,
Prince and Blanket Jackson walked a red carpet Thursday night at a
launch party for something called Mr. Pink Ginseng Drink, and the
three of them actually posed holding up cans of the concoction.

Blanket, 10, even posed chugging down a can!

The drink markets itself as something that can "promote longevity" and
"restore youthfulness" -- just what every 10-year-old needs.

Paris 14, was decked out in a very grown-up gown and extensions in her hair.

The Jackson trio was accompanied by their aunt La Toya to the event
held at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, and
Lindsay Lohan was among the other guests.

Arab Money talks !! SON OF WEALTHY ARAB BILLIONAIRE BRAGS ABOUT HIS £200,000 FERRARI SEIZED BY POLICE

The son of billionaire Sheikh whose £200,000 Ferrari was displayed
outside Scotland Yard as a warning to uninsured drivers has bragged
how it was returned when the police discovered who he was. The
supercar was put on show outside the Met HQ to let illegal drivers
know that their cars would be seized – whatever they were driving…

But the owner of the Ferrari FF, Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi –
son of the Emir of Ajman, in the United Arab Emirates, boasted on his
Facebook page that the Yard had handed the keys back as soon as they
identified him. He wrote online: "Arab money talks".

Sheikh who is known in Ajman by his nickname RRR, short for Rich in
Real estate Resources, posted pictures on Facebook of his Ferrari
accompanied with the statement: "My Ferrari got Seized in London, then
they found out who i was and gave it back". He then wrote 'Arab Money

The car can reach speeds of 208mph and can go from 0 to 60mph in just

War- D’banj- Kenye West Signed D'banj Record not Mohit Record

In a major interview post 'Mo Hits, DB/Good Music/Mercury/IDJ artiste,
Dapo Oyebanjo popularly called D'banj, sought to lay to rest various
allegations and rumours being peddled about him, in an exclusive
interview he granted a Lagos State based radio station, Cool FM.

The artiste, who lists Why Me as his break out song, also spoke on
chances of reconciling with former partner and friend Don Jazzy. Asked
if there were chances that both parties may reconcile, he said "We can
always work together and Don Jazzy still produced some songs on my
forthcoming album. Yes we can work together in future. Maybe a big
company can pay a lot of money for us to perform and yes it has to be
a lot of money for me."

Although the separation remains fresh in the minds of the public since
the break-up made public in March this year, the singer appeared to be
still be nursing the wounds. He appeared overwhelmed with emotions
when the interviewer referred to Don Jazzy as his friend. To this he
went metaphorical saying, "What do you guys call friends, I mean I had
friends for nine years and you guys saw what happened after the
divorce. I lost custody of my children (signees) apart from the one I
had out of wedlock."

D'banj also said he was boss of defunct Mo Hits Record by claiming
that it was his record label D'Banj (DB) Records that went into
partnership with Kanye West's G.O.O.D and not Mo'Hit.

Ever since the singer was officially signed on to West's G.O.O.D Music
label in July, he was rumoured to have joined the dreaded Iluminati
Cult, which is alleged to be home to a number of American celebrities,
including West. In defence, D'banj said, "I don't know anything about
the Illuminati. When I wanted to travel out of Nigeria for the first
time I collected my international passport from Bishop David Oyedepo.
That shows that I owe my success to God. If my success is too fast for
people or they cannot understand it please don't attribute it to
illuminati. I feel very offended when that is being said because it
simply translates to giving God's glory to another person which He
does not share with anyone. God will strike anyone who attributes my
success to someone else."

To the allegations of an existing relationship with Nollywood actress,
Genevieve Nnaji, he said, "I am very single, and Genevieve is my
friend. I have been saying this for over a year since we shot the Fall
in Love video. Can't you people just see fine boy and fine girl in a
video kissing each other and not think anyhow?"

Although the singer who released his debut album, No Long Thing in
2005, was recently featured on West's Cruel Summer CD inlay and a
couple of other singles, he has been criticised for 'leaving his
kingship in Nigeria to become a prince in America.'

Amidst laughter, Dbanj replied, "Did I change the crown? I only
carried my crown to the US. People are just confused but the truth is
I am still a king wherever I am. Being in a different country and
culture I had to study the environment which is what I am still doing.
I actually thought I would release my album in America but my label
thought UK would be better because I have a bigger fan base there. I
weighed my options remember everything did not come from me so I had
to do what I did to move on."

The singer, who revealed that his mother allowed him to travel to the
UK in 2002 with a condition that he would spend just two months there,
describes social media network as platform for idle talk.

"I am too busy for social media, please. If you people want to talk to
me go to TV or radio I don't go to social media except I have
something to say. I never give out recharge cards on Twitter (laughs)
even when I was with Globacom I never did that. If you want to do that
why not help a charity instead."

You are referring to Collins about the social network and sending of
recharge cards… Mind you let me refresh your memory… DB record were
not esterblished when you met West in Dubai, remember you waited to
meet West and after meeting him you told Collins to play him the music
from his ipod that West said he liked the music after you introduced
yourself to him? So how come you now turn round to say West signed DBR
not Mo hit? Anyway we are watching you… Lest I forget you have not for
once given to charity not even recharge card of 100 Naira… The ijebu
in you… No company is willing to spend their money on you so stop
dreaming.. Collins I have been telling you to limit your social
networks usage and build your empire very well

Everyman gotta right to decide his own destiny, so in this Judgement
there's no partiality. Whether Don or Not D'banj will still carry onto
success "destiny" b'cos D'banj's destiny doesn't depends in DON's
hand. So stop saying what you don't know, mind your business. DON is
blessed & D'banj is blessed too, GOD has blessed them with different
talents. Leave D'banj alone …… thank you !!!

D'banj - If you call me illuminati ! God will strike you

"The reason why I am successful today is because of God. So if you
can't understand my success or if it's too fast for you, please don't
classify it as Illuminati. It is very annoying and God might strike

Mourinho: It would be a crime if Ronaldo does not win the Ballon d'Or

Mourinho : Messi and CR7 from another planet Mourinho stated after the
Clasico that both players were from another planet, but he is now
having second thoughts about his previous statement, and believes his
compatriot is well ahead of the Argentine forward , according to goal
.com

"It would be a crime if Cristiano didn't win the Ballon d'Or. If Messi
is the best in the world, it's only because Cristiano is from another
planet," Mourinho stated to A Bola. "He wasn't born on Madeira, but on
Mars.

So he's not from planet Earth. That's why he's the best player in the
universe. If Cristiano does not win it this year, it has to do with
his image. He doesn't sell himself well and isn't always a nice guy."

The flamboyant coach then voiced his opinion that it is more difficult
for Ronaldo to excel than it is for Messi, as he has not been
surrounded by the same teammates for years .

"Things are much harder for Cristiano than they are for Messi. Messi
grew up with his current team and teammates," he said. "Cristiano, on
the other hand, came here from England and arrived at a struggling
team. He has had to develop in a team that wasn't the finished article
yet."

NEWS: UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN ( UNILORIN) SUED FOR WITHHOLDING TAXES

The infrastructural growth of the University of Ilorin in the past six
years has been awesome, but extra funds available as a result of
non-payment of tax might have buoyed the growth as tax collectors in
Kwara State believed the school has been withholding tax.

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service on Thursday dragged the
authorities of the University of Ilorin before an Ilorin High Court
for allegedly withholding about N971m taxes from the state.

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service through its counsel, Funso
Lawal claimed the outstanding/debts arose from alleged unremitted
taxes/levies due to the state government from the university in a
period covered between January 2004 and December 2008.

The plaintiff claimed an outstanding Pay As You Earn tax of N579m;
outstanding withholding tax of N149m; state development levy of N1.6m;
statutory penalty at 10 per cent totaling N72.8m; and statutory
interest at 21 per cent (until judgment is given) amounting to
N168.5m.

"The defendant is a direct employer within jurisdiction and is under
the combined provisions of the Personal Tax Act, Board of Internal
Revenue Law and other Laws on tax, statutorily responsible for the
deduction of PAYE tax on the income of its staff; deduct withholding
tax on contracts awarded and to deduct N100 per annum, per employee as
development levy."

Justice Ayinla Bamgbola is presiding over the case on which the
authorities of UNILORIN have not spoken yet on as the school is
reported busy on management transition as the institution's new Vice
Chancellor is expected to resume office next week.
